A new photonics biosensor configuration comprising a Double-side Ring Add-drop Filter microring resonator (DR-ADF) made from SiO2-TiO2 material is proposed for the detection of Salmonella bacteria (SB) in blood. The scattering matrix method using inductive calculation is used to determine the output signal's intensities in the blood with and without presence of Salmonella. The change in refractive index due to the reaction of Salmonella bacteria with its applied antibody on the flagellin layer loaded on the sensing and detecting microresonator causes the increase in through and dropper port's intensities of the output signal which leads to the detection of SB in blood. A shift in the output signal wavelength is observed with resolution of 0.01 nm. The change in intensity and shift in wavelength is analyzed with respect to the change in the refractive index which contributes toward achieving an ultra-high sensitivity of 95,500 nm/RIU which is almost two orders higher than that of reported from single ring sensors and the limit of detection is in the order of 1 × 10-8 RIU. In applications, such a system can be employed for a high sensitive and fast detection of bacteria. © 2014 by the authors; licensee MDPI, Basel, Switzerland.

Plasma is a one of state of matter that is produced by applying energy into gas or fluid like, where the ionized electrons from gas or fluid atoms to be free electrons. In this paper, the use of micro plasma source generation by using a PANDA ring resonator is introduced, in which the whispering gallery modes (WGMs) are formed within the center ring and can be used to create the high power of electromagnetic wave for gas plasma production. In application, the micro plasma source can be fabricated in small scale material process or others suitable operation. In this case, the plasma source can be decreased to be micro-scale device, where in fact, the common plasma source system size is large because the high energy source to produce high power plasma is required. Finally, the detail of using such small scale plasma source is discussed. The theoretical details of whispering gallery mode and quantum tunneling effects are also reviewed and discussed. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

We propose a new system of the multi-quantum tweezers array generation using a soliton generation control within the triple ring resonator system, whereas the dynamic tweezers can be generated within a microring device. By using the quantum processor, the entangle photon states of the tweezers can be formed, which is allowed to form the molecular quantum transmission. We have also theoretically shown that the optical tweezers can be controlled and tuned by varying the couple coefficient (κ) between 0.25 and 0.9, with ring resonator radii between 7 and 15 μm, which is available for molecule trapping. In application, the transmission of tweezers with different molecules or DNA can be performed, which is available for high density and security molecular transportation via the optical communication system. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

A system that can be used to generate the new optical communication using a Gaussian pulse propagating within a nonlinear microring resonator double add/drop multiplexing system is discussed. By using the wide range of the Gaussian input pulses, for instance, when the input pulses of the common lasers with center wavelengths 1,300 nm are used. Achievements obtained have shown that very high capacity more than 300 channels for optical communication. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

A microring resonator (MRRs) system incorporated with a add/drop filter is proposed in which ultra-short single, multi-temporal, and spatial optical soliton pulses are simulated and used to kill abnormal cells, tumors, and cancer. Chaotic signals are generated by a bright soliton pulse within a nonlinear MRRs system. Gold nanoparticles and ultra-short femtosecond/picosecond laser pulses' interaction holds great interest in laser nanomedicine. By using appropriate soliton input power and MRRs parameters, desired spatial and temporal signals can be generated over the spectrum. Results show that short temporal and spatial solitons pulse with FWHM = 712 fs and FWHM = 17.5 pm could be generated. The add/drop filter system is used to generate the high-capacity, ultra-short soliton pulses in the range of nanometer/second and picometer/second. Copyright © 2013 Informa Healthcare USA, Inc.

Acne vulgaris is adebilitating dermatologic disease, and is conventionally treated by laser therapy using a microring resonator system. An evolving understanding of laser-tissue interactions involving Propioni bacterium acneproducing porphyrins, and the development of lasers to target the sebaceous glands, has led to the development of an escalating number of laser light for acne treatment. The results show that the full width at half maximum of the proposed laser pulse of 0.15 nm can be generated using a microring resonator system. The power of the laser is 200 W and the wavelength laser is 1,032 nm, which is proposed as a treatment of acne vulgaris diseases. Copyright © 2013 Informa Healthcare USA, Inc.

Generation of fast light pulses through a nonlinear microring system is an attractive research challenge for high speed optical and quantum computer, optical communication networks and secured communication. In this paper generation of fast light through GaAlAs/GaAs waveguides with fabricated Micro Ring Resonator is reported. Using multistage system, the attosecond pulse can be generated. Simulation results obtained have shown that the generation of a very narrow full-width at half maximum (FWHM) line width and sharp tip is achieved. We propose a new system of multistage micro ring resonators consist of four rings for optical communication system. Here, pulse width of 15 attosecond can be obtained, using proper parameters of the proposed system. © Penerbit UTM Press, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

We present a new system of signal security using nonlinear micro ring resonators for optical communication system. When a Gaussian pulse (1.3μm) is input into the system, the chaotic signal is generated and multiplexed into the optical communication. The chaotic waveform can be canceled using an add/drop device connected into the transmission link. In application results from the fact that the fast and slow light behaviors can be presented and can be seen using the add/drop filter. We can generate signal to obtain the two identical "signal'' and "ghost'' signals, which are observed in a different time frame. In this application, communication security can be performed when the required information is multiplexed and performs the link using the chaotic signal, signal and ghost signals, where the original signal can be retrieved and randomized by the known user. © 2010 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

In this paper we have new designed a photonic circuit for all-optical logic AND and OR gates simultaneously using dark-bright soliton conversion. The input logic '0', '1' represents by dark (D), bright (B) soliton respectively and control logic '0' are formed by using the dark soliton pulse (D) trains. We found that the simultaneous optical logic AND and OR gates at the drop and through ports can be formed, respectively. © 2011 IEEE.

We present the design and FDTD simulations of microring resonator array optical buffer. The proposed buffer consists of six microring array coupled via upper MZI arm, and one microring is coupled via the lower MZI arm, where all coupling gap used is with 105 nm. Results obtained have shown that the delay times of the output signals can be used to form the optical buffer(memory), which can be available for high capacity channel multiplexing and filtering applications.
