Item type:Item, Design of multiple conversion ratio and bidirectional power flow by using dual SC DC-DC converters(2013-03-28) ;Pongswatd, Sawai ;Smerpituk, Krit ;Eguchi, KeiSasaki, HirofumiThis paper presents the simple design technique to implement dual SC DCDC converters that can convert input voltage step up or step down. The output of proposed converters is connected between individual converter output capacitors so that the output voltage can convert to multiple levels step up or step down and bidirectional power flow. The conversion ratio can be specified by simple circuit structure by connecting the capacitors in parallel or series. The circuits are designed by digital technique to on-off the switches for step up or step down conversion ratio 1x, 2x, 3x, jx, or 1x, 1/2x, 1/3x, 1/jx, respectively. The characteristics of the proposed converter are clarified by theoretical analyses. In addition, experimentation shows the validity of circuit design, where theoretical results correspond well with experimentation results. The proposed converter will be useful as a driver circuit for battery charger and power battery transfer between different level voltages. © 2013 ICIC International. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Design of step up and down Bi-directional switched capacitor DC-DC converter(2012-02-01) ;Pongswatd, Sawai ;Smerpituk, Krit ;Eguchi, KeiSasaki, HirofumiThis paper presents the design technique to implement a DC-DC converter that can convert input voltage with step-up or step-down, and bi-directional power flow. The conversion ratio and power efficiency of the converter can be specified by circuit structure, which has capacitors connected in parallel or series configuration. The conversion ratios of step up and step down are 2x, 3x, 4x,... and 1/2x, 1/3x, 1/4x,..., respectively. The direction of power flow can be controlled by state of input and output switches. SPICE simulation results show that output voltage and power efficiency of the proposed converter agree well with theoretical values. © 2012 ICIC International. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Analysis and design of SC DC-DC converter for maximum efficiency(2010-01-01) ;Pongswatd, Sawai ;Petchmaneelumka, Wandee ;Prapamonton, Yongyuth ;Eguchi, KeiSasaki, HirofumiIn this paper, a multiple-state step-up DC-DC converter using switched-capacitor (SC) technique for mobile back-lighting applications is analyzed. Theoretical formulas concerning the conversion ratio between input and output, power efficiency and equivalent circuit are given to estimate the circuit characteristics. To achieve maximum efficiency, the design of clock duty cycle for each state of 4-state circuit structure is presented as an illustrative case study. Based on the proposed analysis and design, the focused DC-DC converter can provide not only maximum efficiency but also wide input range. Simulation and experimental results that agree well with theoretical values are included to confirm the proposed analysis and design. © 2010 SICE.
