Item type:Item, An Optical Heterodyne Technique for Dynamic Eddy-Current Damping Force Evaluation(2021-01-01) ;Youplao, Phichai ;Takita, Akihiro ;Nasbey, Hadi ;Mitatha, SomsakFujii, YusakuThis work presents and discusses a method for evaluating a dynamic eddy-current damping (ECD) force that is automatically generated in response to eddy currents induced within a conductive plate while moving across a magnetic field in relative motion to a nearby stationary magnet. In the experiment, a Doppler shift frequency signal between the optical interference fringe frequencies was used to calculate the velocity of the moving conductive plate. The other relevant mechanical quantities acting on the plate, such as the displacement, acceleration, and resultant force, were then evaluated by performing numerical calculations of the velocity. Finally, the evaluation of the ECD force could be achieved by performing a calculation to remove the frictional force component from the resultant force. Furthermore, an approximation analysis used to calculate the value of the ECD force was proposed and compared with the measured value as well. From the experimental results, the combined standard uncertainty for evaluating the ECD force was approximately 3.57 mN, corresponding to 3.13% of the maximum eddy-current force of approximately 114.0 mN. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

In the LMM, a small mass collides with contact lenses and the impact force is measured with high accuracy as the inertial force of the moving part. A pneumatic linear bearing is used to achieve linear motion with sufficiently small friction acting on the moving part. P.A laser Doppler velocimeter (LDV) for two-dimensional velocity measurement using a simple optical configuration without any optical modulator is proposed. The structure using polarized beams and the 90° phase shift of the reference beam is used to discriminate the direction of velocity. The analytical relation among beat frequencies and velocity components is derived and the characteristics of the proposed LDV are simulated. The simulation results indicate that the direction of velocity can be discriminated by the proposed LDV as well as the magnitudes of the components of the velocity. © 2010 Elsevier GmbH. Item type:Item, Review of the levitation mass method a precision mechanical measurement method(2011-05-02) ;Fujii, Yusaku ;Jin, Tao ;Mitatha, Somsak ;Yupapin, Preecha P.Hou, WenmeiThis paper firstly has a brief review of the present status and future prospects of a method for precision mechanical based on the levitation mass method (LMM). The LMM has been proposed and improved by the author. The force generated by the actuator is measured as the inertial force of the mass levitated with sufficiently small friction using an aerostatic linear bearing and connected to the moving part of the actuator. During the measurement, the Doppler shift frequency of the laser beam reflected by the mass is measured with a high accuracy with the help of an optical interferometer. Subsequently, the velocity, position, acceleration, and inertial force of the mass are calculated using based on this frequency.
