Item type:Item, Design optimization on Ross yoke mechanism for stirling engine(2026-05-15) ;Jaisue, Apirat ;Kansuwan, PanyaKwankaomeng, SutapatThis paper presents a design analysis and optimization of an Alpha-type Stirling engine with a double-acting mechanism. The engine has four cylinders with a piston diameter and length of 60 mm and 113.2 mm, respectively. Using the Ross yoke with a double-acting mechanism, the engine has a swept volume and stroke of 384.69 cm3 and 34 mm. The working gas is 10 bar pressurized air. ADAMS software is used to access dynamic balancing and kinematic analysis. Operating characteristics and performance were investigated and parameterized for optimization. Minimizing the stroke difference of four pistons, uniform piston stroke, is the objective function with the top and bottom-dead constraints. The length of the rocking lever attached to the yoke link influences the smooth reciprocating of all pistons. The simulation results with searching method optimization show the dynamic motion of the Ross yoke mechanism that can be adjusted to the optimal piston stroke with the suitable length of the rocking lever. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Heat transfer enhancement and investigation on Stirling engine heater with biomass application(2021-09-15) ;Tuntrakeun, Punsa ;Kansuwan, PanyaKwankaomeng, SutapatThis research presents a heat transfer enhancement technique on a Stirling engine heater equipped with a biomass fuel burner. ANSYS Fluent software was utilized in the computation of heat transfer, including heat flux and temperature distribution on the heater component of the engine. Effects of the increasing of the heating surface on heat transfer enhancement were investigated. Fin effectiveness resulting from the fin parameter variation of the heater, such as fin diameter and fin spacing, was evaluated for heat transfer under forced convection and heat conduction. This simulation results in the fin configuration most suitable for the fabrication of our Stirling engine heater. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Effect of regenerator on V-type alpha Stirling engine performance(2021-09-15) ;Senviboon, Varit ;Kansuwan, Panya ;Silpsakoolsook, BanterngKwankaomeng, SutapatThis paper presents the performance of an Alpha-type Stirling engine with and without a regenerator. The Alpha Stirling engine with a V-cylinder arrangement has two pistons that fit in hot and cold cylinders separately. The prototype engine has swept volume of 79 cm3. Working gas is ambient air and coolant is water. The engine performance test was conducted in two operating modes as a heat pump and a heat engine. Working as a heat pump, temperature drop at the cold cylinder was measured relative to work input from an induction motor. By varying its speed using an inverter, the cooling curves of the engine with and without regenerative heat exchanger were obtained for comparison. Working as a heat engine, on the contrary, heat input instead of work input as in the heat pump was applied to the engine by a fuel burner at a constant feed rate of LPG. The temperature on the cold cylinder is controlled by cooling water from the cooler. By varying the cooling water temperature, the variations of work output were measured from the output shaft by the rope brake dynamometer. The performance results of the two operating modes with and without regenerator were compared.
