Item type:Item, A dual-band rectangular shape incorporated into circular patch antenna for 2.4/5 GHz wireless local area network applications(2025-02-01) ;Lamultree, Suthasinee ;Somsanook, Nattakarn ;Narkkoht, WararakPhongcharoenpanich, ChuwongThis research exhibits a design of a dual-band patch antenna (DBPA) implemented by a rectangular shape incorporated into a circular patch together with a pair of half-wavelength inverted U-slots (HWIUSs) with the single feed for 2.4/5 GHz wireless local area network (WLAN) applications. For this work, the HWIUSs are key in designing a dual-band antenna. The DBPA is fed by a 50-Ohm microstrip line, printed on a copper layer overlaid on an FR4 substrate with a relative permittivity of 4.3 and height of 1.6 mm, while the bottom layer is backed by a partial ground plane. An antenna prototype with a dimension of 0.384λL×0.304λL×0.013λL was contrived and admeasured to verify the simulation. The measurement provides a nearly omnidirectional pattern with a 2.55 and 3.3 dBi peak gain covering a dual-band 10 dB return loss bandwidth of 15% (2.4–2.8 GHz) and 20% (4.96–5.86 GHz), respectively. Noticeably, simulated |S11| and radiation patterns are reasonable following experimental results showing its potential in 2.4/5 GHz WLAN services. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, A compact dual-band circular monopole antenna with partial ground plane for 2.45/5.5 GHz WLAN applications(2019-03-01) ;Lamultree, Suthasinee ;Jansri, ChaleePhongcharoenpanich, ChuwongIn this paper, a compact dual-band antenna for 2.45/5.5 GHz WLAN applications is presented. Geometry of a presented antenna consists of a circular-slot printed on a circular monopole with a partial ground plane, operated at 2.45 GHz and 5.5 GHz bands, respectively. It is constructed by using FR-4 substrates with ϵ<inf>r</inf> of 43 and 0.035 mm copper layer thickness. This antenna is compact with a size of 70 mm×80 mm×1.6 mm, and it is capable to easily integrate with other circuits. It is shown that this proposed antenna wholly covers the required bandwidths ranging from 2.4-2.485 GHz and 5.15-5.825 GHz with desirable radiation characteristics and magnitude of S<inf>11</inf> better than -10dB. To verify the simulation, an antenna prototype was made up and measured. Obviously, the simulation results are in well acceptance with the measured one. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The radiating element of the proposed antenna consists of a circular disc monopole with circular-slot laid on FR-4 substrate and backed by a partial ground plane. This partial ground plane is modified to improve its radiation performance. This proposed antenna operates over the frequencies of 2.4-2.485 GHz and 5.15-5.825 GHz with nice radiation characteristics and magnitude of S11 better than -10 dB. An EM simulator has been used in the design and simulation. In addition, an experimental validation was set and measured to compare with the simulated results. All numerical results will be reported and discussed in the paper.
