Item type:Item, A Wideband Phase-Shifterless Switched-Beam Array Antenna(2018-10-23) ;Ngamjanyaporn, Phaisan ;Phongcharoenpanich, ChuwongKrairiksh, MonaiThis paper presents a wideband switched-beam array antenna without using phase shifter. The wideband switched-beam Yagi antenna is used as the array element. The PIN diodes are applied as the RF switches to switch the beam of the antenna. Two-element array of wideband switched-beam Yagi antennas is proposed to provide the 360° switched-beam direction for the short range radar (SRR) system. The simulated results show that the bandwidth of 500 MHz (0.92 - 1.42 GHz) can be obtained, the gain is higher than 4 and 5 dBi at lower and upper frequencies, respectively. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, A phase-shifterless beam scanning array antenna for agricultural applications(2017-07-02) ;Ngamjanyaporn, PhaisanKrairiksh, MonaiThis paper presents a phase-shifterless beam scanning array antenna that three elements of circular array are pattern reconfigurable Yagi-Uda antennas. To minimize the antenna complexity, instead of using four beams of each element, one element uses fixed beam while the other two elements can switch radiation pattern in two directions. The radiation characteristics of the array are simulated using 4NEC2 simulator to find out the suitable array parameters. The suitable element orientation of 45° and the array radius of 0.65λ, and with non-uniform amplitude excitation, the array provides four beams that cover 150° with gain 7-9 dBi. The array has been validated by experiments. The four beams of the array show good agreement with the simulated ones. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The array uses 1-bit phase shifters applied to its elements in order to point its main beam in a desired direction and internal switching of elements in order to form nulls towards interference. Item type:Item, Signal-to-interference ratio improvement by using a phased array antenna of switched-beam elements(2005-05-01) ;Ngamjanyaporn, Phaisan ;Phongcharoenpanich, Chuwong ;Akkaraekthalin, PrayootKrairiksh, MonaiA phased array antenna of switched-beam elements is proposed to improve the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR). By using 1-bit phase shifters, the main beam of the array is switched to desired signal direction, and with the switched-beam patch antenna elements the null patterns are changeable. The results of radiation patterns show that the interference suppression can be improved. Moreover, the SIR measurement is also set up in multipath environment to ensure the array performance. It is found that the SIR is significantly affected by the multipath environment; however, the SIR improvement of more than 10 dB can be obtained by changing the null patterns. © 2005 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The low-cost and compact phased array antenna is designed using a circular array of four circular microstrip antennas made of low-cost material and four 1-bit phase shifters. The main beam of the antenna can be switched in four directions with the gain of about 4 dBi in each main-beam direction. More than 90° half-power beamwidth and over 10 dB F/B ratio are obtained. In addition, the diversity performance is considered and the diversity performance of this antenna can be provided with the envelope correlation about 0.6. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Applying the injection locking technique to the spherical array which elements are made of simple waveguide radiators, the beam steering with considerably constant pattern in different directions can be achieved without using the sophisticated phase shifters. This antenna is designed and tested at the frequency of 10 GHz.
