Item type:Item, Demographic determinants of digital well-being among Indonesian library and information science students(2026-06-01) ;Prabowo, Thoriq Tri ;Sitthiworachart, Jirarat ;Sriwisathiyakun, KanyaratMorris, JohnThis study examined the level of digital well-being among Indonesian library and information science students, focusing on demographic factors including gender, age, residency (urban vs rural), geographic location, and grade point average (GPA). Digital well-being is critical in effectively supporting learning in Library and Information Science. This study was a sequential explanatory design. Students from more than 15 universities over multiple regions participated in this self-assessment survey (n = 900). Quantitative data collected through an online survey based on Jisc’s digital well-being scale were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, and ANOVA. Qualitative data from follow-up surveys to selected students were thematically analyzed (n = 30). Positive impacts of digital well-being were higher than the negative ones. Gender, age, geographic location, and GPA affected digital well-being; but there was no difference between residency settings. Generally positive overall digital well-being beliefs were found among the students, with variations in some demographic factors. This study underscores the importance of digital well-being in a digital world. Valuable insights into the effective use of a two-stage survey demographics are provided, aiming to facilitate students in realizing the full potential benefits of digital technology use. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, SELF-DIRECTED BLENDED LEARNING MODEL ON EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND ACHIEVEMENT(2026-01-04) ;Liu, Fang ;Sriwisathiyakun, KanyaratPetsangsri, SiriratIn the era of advancing globalization, developing emotional intelligence (EI) has become essential for adolescents to manage emotional stress, build social relationships, and adapt to changing environments. This study developed a Self-Directed Blended Learning (SDBL) model incorporating Intangible Cultural Heritage music to enhance students' EI and academic achievement. The research was conducted in two phases: First, the SDBL model was designed and validated, consisting of five components (setting learning targets, planning, gathering information, online and offline learning activities, and post-lesson reflection). Five education experts evaluated the model using a 5-point Likert scale, yielding an average score of 4.84, confirming its pedagogical quality. Second, the teaching experiment was conducted at Taiyuan University of Science and Technology. A total of 112 non-music undergraduate students, who voluntarily enrolled in the Shanxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Music Appreciation course, participated in the study. The students were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 56 students in each. After the intervention, both groups completed post-tests to measure their emotional intelligence and academic achievement. Emotional intelligence was assessed using a revised 25-item version of the Schutte Self-Report Emotional Intelligence Test (SSEIT). Five experts evaluated the test's content validity using the Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) method, with scores ranging from 0.6 to 1. Academic achievement was measured using test items from a nationally recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) database maintained by the Chinese government. Five experts reviewed these items, and their IOC scores ranged from 0.8 to 1.0. The collected data were analyzed using t-tests and MANOVA. The results showed that the experimental group performed significantly better than the control group in both emotional intelligence and academic achievement. Additionally, a positive correlation was found between the two variables. The findings demonstrate that SDBL model incorporating Intangible Cultural Heritage music can enhance EI and academic achievement while simultaneously developing cognitive and emotional competencies, offering an innovative solution for preparing students to meet future challenges. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Integrating generative AI with the flipped classroom teaching model: enhancing emotional well-being and student achievement(2026-01-01) ;Liu, Hanchu ;Sriwisathiyakun, KanyaratPetsangsri, SiriratEducation in the modern society is undergoing rapid transformation as helping students perform better academically and feel emotionally better has become increasingly important. One way to support this is by using Generative AI (GenAI) in combination with the flipped classroom approach. This study focused on creating and testing a new teaching model called the Generative AI-Integrated Flipped Classroom (GenAI-FC) designed for mental health courses. The research was done in two main parts. In the first part, the GenAI-FC model was developed and its structure was adjusted based on feedback from experts. In the second part, the model was used with students to see how it affected their learning and emotional well-being. The results were promising as five experts reviewed the model and gave it a high-quality score of 4.68 out of 5, showing that it was strong and useful for teaching. Then, the model was tested with 95 first-year university students. After using the model, students showed clear improvement in their exam scores and emotional well-being, based on a standard questionnaire. Both scores were significantly higher after the course compared to before as the results show that the GenAI-FC model can make a real difference by helping students to learn better and also feel more supported. This suggests that using Generative AI in a flipped classroom could be a helpful way to improve education and support students’ mental health at the same time. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, A quasi-experimental study of lab rotation integrated with generative AI and peer code review model to enhance students’ critical thinking and academic resilience in introductory programming(2026-01-01) ;Zheng, Weidong ;Ratanaolarn, ThaninSriwisathiyakun, KanyaratLab rotation provides a dynamic and interactive learning environment; generative artificial intelligence can help novices overcome learning challenges; and peer code review offers a collaborative learning environment. This study investigates how incorporating these designs into a new instructional model can enhance students’ critical thinking and academic resilience. A total of 83 first-year college students participated in the experiment, which lasted 6 weeks. The students were from two classes, majored in Educational Technology, and were enrolled in an introductory programming course titled ‘C Programming’. Class 1 was randomly selected as the control group and Class 2 as the experimental group. The experimental group and the control group were taught by the same teacher. The control group employed the traditional programming teaching method, whereas the experimental group utilized a new instructional model comprising four learning stations: instruction, lab, teacher-led, and review stations. All participants took a critical thinking test and an academic resilience questionnaire before and after the experiment. The results showed no significant difference in critical thinking and academic resilience between the pretest groups. In contrast, the post-test results showed that the experimental group’s critical thinking and academic resilience significantly outperformed those of the control group. The findings highlight the effectiveness of the instructional model on students’ critical thinking and academic resilience. This study is the first to integrate lab rotation, generative artificial intelligence, and peer code review into the design of a new instructional model for introductory programming and to demonstrate its effectiveness in enhancing students’ critical thinking and academic resilience. Item type:Item, Development and evaluation of a station rotation blended learning model to enhance creative thinking and poetry writing skills(2026-01-01) ;Krittapakpokin, Temsook ;Sriwisathiyakun, KanyaratSovajassatakul, ThanongsakPoetry writing reflects ideas, wisdom, and culture while supporting the development of analytical, synthetic, and evaluative skills essential for holistic thinking and creative expression. Despite these benefits, poetry instruction in Thai lower secondary classrooms remains predominantly lecture-based with limited activity diversity, reducing student engagement with composition. However, poetry writing offers substantial potential for creative thinking, a key 21st-century competency. This study developed and evaluated a blended learning model based on the Online-Teacher-Collaboration (OTC) Rotation Model to strengthen linguistic creative thinking and poetry-writing skills. The research involved two phases: model development through theoretical synthesis and expert validation by 7 specialists, followed by effectiveness testing using a quasi-experimental posttest-only control-group design with cluster random sampling. Participants included 78 Secondary 2 students, equally divided into experimental and control groups. Assessment data on linguistic creative thinking and poetry-writing skills were analyzed using MANOVA. Results indicated that students taught with the OTC Rotation Model scored significantly higher both in poetry writing and creative thinking than the control group. These findings carry meaningful implications for language educators and curriculum designers: the OTC Rotation Model offers a structured, evidence-based instructional framework that integrates creative thinking directly into literary composition, making it readily applicable to Thai-language classrooms without requiring extensive institutional resources. Teachers are encouraged to adopt its three-station structure online, teacher-led, and collaborative as a replicable format for designing active learning environments. Beyond Thai education, the model can be adapted across other educational levels and linguistic contexts where poetry instruction and creative thinking development are curricular priorities. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

This study explores the efficacy of a Micro-Learning Media with Station Rotation Blended Learning Model (MLM-SRM) in enhancing the Japanese communication skills—specifically speaking, listening, and reading—of second-year students at Sichuan University. The research employed a pre-test-post-test randomized controlled experimental design, involving 80 students who were randomly assigned to either the MLM-SRM group or a traditional teaching group. Data were collected using well-established rubrics for speaking, listening, and reading skills, and analyzed through mean, standard deviation, Cohen’s d, and one-way MANOVA. The results revealed that students in the MLM-SRM group significantly outperformed those in the traditional group in overall language proficiency, with the most substantial gains observed in reading skills, followed by speaking and listening. A deeper analysis highlighted significant improvements in interactive communication for speaking, interactive and response skills for listening, and text structure for reading among the MLM-SRM participants. Furthermore, a thematic analysis of students’ open-ended survey responses underscored a positive reception towards the MLM-SRM, indicating its potential as an effective tool for language instruction. These findings underscore the importance of the MLM-SRM approach, which immerses students in an engaging and diverse learning environment and holds significant implications for theory and practice. They require students to engage in writing, information gathering, utilizing technology tools, synthesizing information, and providing constructive feedback on their peers' work. This study developed and used digital storytelling integrated with peer assessment (DSIPA) to promote digital wellbeing. This study has several objectives: 1) to determine whether this integrated digital storytelling significantly improved student digital wellbeing skills compared to students who receive digital storytelling with teacher feedback (DSITF); 2) to investigate the types of peer feedback the students provided in the peer assessment activities; and 3) to explore the students' perspectives on the learning activity with this integrated digital storytelling to promote digital wellbeing. DSIPA was implemented and evaluated; 72 Library and Information Science (LIS) students from UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Indonesia, were selected using simple random sampling. DSIPA was compared to DSITF, with each group consisting of 36 students. The developed DSIPA lesson plan was used for guiding the six-week learning activities. A digital wellbeing scale with 5-point Likert scale was used. MANOVA analysis, with a 0.05 level, revealed significant difference for digital wellbeing between DSIPA and DSITF. Students who learnt with DSIPA obtained higher scores than students who learnt with DSITF. The results of peer feedback analysis reflected a generally positive peer feedback culture, characterized by a balance of praise and constructive criticism. A thematic analysis of students' open-ended survey responses revealed their positive perspective on the learning activity. They felt it significantly improved their digital wellbeing, along with boosting their motivation, engagement, and academic achievement. To enhance the effectiveness, developing DSIPA activities with clear objectives and structured outcomes, supported by adequate training and resources, is recommended. Item type:Item, Student needs assessment analysis in e-commerce courses of vocational colleges in Guizhou Province China(2025-01-01) ;Tan, Linxi ;Ratanaolarn, Thanin ;Sriwisathiyakun, KanyaratCui, JianmingThis study aimed to identify the specific needs of students in e-commerce courses in vocational colleges, focusing on digital marketing competencies, team spirit, learning methods, and course content to support curriculum development and the construction of innovative teaching models. The researcher of this study conducted a needs assessment survey with a sample size of 400 current vocational students. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine the means of 12 items. The results showed that the mean value of items ranged from 3.44 to 4.29, and all items reached at least the need level. Furthermore, respondents perceived a strong need to enhance digital marketing competencies and adopt new learning methods in e-commerce courses. Respondents also showed a need to integrate project-based learning and blended learning compared to other learning methods. A comprehensive student needs assessment analysis towards e-commerce courses has been provided in this study; it could serve as basic information for educators to develop a better teaching model and curriculum in the field of e-commerce education in vocational colleges. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Project-based blended learning for vocational education: Enhancing digital marketing competencies and team spirit(2025-01-01) ;Tan, Linxi ;Ratanaolarn, ThaninSriwisathiyakun, KanyaratDeveloping digital marketing competencies and team spirit is essential in vocational education to cope with the digital economy’s demands. Based on the needs assessment of vocational students and related literature research, this study discusses how to develop and implement the project-based Blended Learning (PjBBL) model and evaluates its effectiveness in enhancing digital marketing competencies and team spirit among vocational students. The research employs a quasi-experimental design with 90 students from Tongren Polytechnic College, Guizhou, China, divided equally into experimental and control groups. The experimental group followed the PjBBL model. The control group used blended learning (BL) methods. The learning activity lasted 8 weeks, pre-tests and post-tests were administered using a 5-point Likert scale for digital marketing competencies and team spirit. MANOVA analysis (level 0.05) showed a significant difference in digital marketing competencies and team spirit between PjBBL and BL. The results revealed that while both groups showed improvement, the experimental group achieved significantly higher scores in both areas, indicating the effectiveness of the PjBBL model. Item type:Item, Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Career Counseling based on Needs Assessment of Chinese Undergraduate Students(2025-01-01) ;Zhou, Kangkang ;Sriwisathiyakun, KanyaratPetsangsri, SiriratPurpose: This research focused on the needs of undergraduate students for effective career services in higher education institutes in Nanjing, China. Furthermore, the researcher also developed an AI Career Counseling Platform by integrating AI into a student career counseling service to meet the identified needs of students. Methods: This study consisted of two phases. In the first phase, a needs assessment survey was conducted to identify specific needs, preferences, and challenges of 384 undergraduate students selected by a multistage sampling method in Nanjing City, China. In phase two, the AI Career Counseling Platform was developed and subsequently evaluated by a panel of five experts. Results: Key findings from the needs assessment reveal three areas of particular importance to undergraduate students with a strong need for job-seeking counseling (mean score: 4.75), access to an alumni network (mean score: 4.84), and Entrepreneurship information (mean score: 4.72). Based on these insights, the platform Zhidada was developed. The expert panel further evaluated the platform, categorizing it as "Most Appropriate," with an average score of 4.75 for overall quality and technical development and a content suitability score of 4.74. Implications: This research significantly contributed to advancing the AI Career Counseling Platform by integrating students into career counseling services and expert insights, thus laying a strong foundation for enhancing career services in higher education.
