    In this paper, presented design method of 1:4 transmission line transformer (TLT) at the high power base of coaxial cable surrounded a ferrite core and compensation element used for improve return loss. The model for 1:4 TLT used in matching impedance at 39 MHz of push-pull power amplifiers (PAs) with insertion loss approximately -3 dB, return loss lower -40 dB and different phase shift about 180° are presented.

    Vdiba-based floating lossless inductance simulator employing a single grounded capacitor

    This paper presents an actively floating lossless inductance simulator based on employing voltage differencing inverting buffered amplifiers (VDIBAs) as new active components. The proposed synthetic inductor employs only two VDIBAs and one grounded capacitor, which is resistorless structure and suitable for integrated circuit design. The realized equivalent inductance is electronically adjustable through the transconductance parameter of the VDIBA. An application example of the proposed tunable floating lossless inductor on the realization of the second-order RLC bandpass filter has been designed and simulated. PSPICE simulation results with standard 0.35 μm BiCMOS process model are also included to demonstrate the utility as well as the workability of the proposed simulator.

    New current-controlled current-mode sinusoidal quadrature oscillators using CDTAs

    This article presents new current-mode oscillator circuits using CDTAs which is designed from block diagram. The proposed circuits consist of three CDTAs and two grounded capacitors. The condition of oscillation can be adjusted electronically/orthogonally from the oscillation frequency by adjusting bias current of the CDTAs. The proposed quadrature oscillators have high output impedance and use only grounded capacitors without any external resistor which is very appropriate for future development into an integrated circuit. The PSPICE simulation and experimental results are corresponding to the theoretical analysis.

    VDBA-based floating inductance simulator with a grounded capacitor

    This study presents the resistorless floating inductance simulator circuit based on employing voltage differencing buffered amplifier (VDBA) as new active component. The proposed floating inductance simulator circuit uses two VDBAs and only one grounded capacitor, which is suitable for integrated circuit design. The resulting equivalent inductance value of the proposed simulator can be tuned electronically through the transconductance parameter of the VDBA. As application example, the second-order RLC bandpass filter has been simulated using the proposed tunable floating inductance simulator. The simulation results using standard 0.35 μm BiCMOS process model are included to verify the theoretical analysis.

    CCCIIs-based sinusoidal quadrature oscillators with non-interactive control of condition and frequency

    The paper presents two current-mode quadrature oscillators with non-interactive two current controls for both of the condition of oscillation (CO) and the frequency of oscillation (FO) using current controlled current conveyors (CCCIIs). The proposed oscillators can provide two sinusoidal output currents with 90 degrees phase difference. It also provides high output impedances that make the circuit can directly drive load without additional current buffer. The condition of oscillation and frequency of oscillation can be controlled by adjusting the bias currents of the CCCIIs. The proposed circuits use only grounded capacitors without any external resistor which is very appropriate for further development into an integrated circuit.     Dual-output current differencing transconductance amplifiers-based current-mode sinusoidal quadrature oscillators

    This paper presents three current-mode quadrature oscillator (QO) circuits based on dual-output current differencing transconductance amplifier (DO-CDTA) which is designed from block diagram. The proposed circuits consist of two DO-CDTAs and two grounded capacitors. The circuits can provide two sinusoidal output currents with 90° phase difference. The condition of oscillation (CO) can be adjusted independently from the frequency of oscillation (FO) by adjusting the bias currents of the DO-CDTA. The proposed circuits have high output impedance appropriate for cascade connection application in current mode which is capable to directly drive load. The circuits use only grounded capacitors without any external resistor which is very appropriate for further development into an integrated circuit. Moreover, the oscillator circuits can also adjust amplitude of the output signal. The results of PSPICE simulation program are corresponding to the theoretical analysis. © 2014 World Scientific Publishing Company.

    CCTA based current-mode first order filter and its application in quadrature oscillator

    This article presents a current-mode first order filter and application in quadrature oscillator circuit based on all-pass filter. The filter circuit using only single CCTA and single grounded capacitor. It is able to provide low-pass, high-pass and all-pass function. Morover, the proposed oscillator can provide two sinusoidal output currents with 90 degrees phase difference. The filter and oscillator circuits use only grounded capacitors without any external resistor and have high output impedance appropriate for cascade connection application in current mode which is capable to directly drive load. This qualification is very appropriate for further development into an integrated circuit. The results of PSPICE simulation program are corresponding to the theoretical analysis.

    The current-mode quadrature oscillator with non-Interactive 2 current control for both of condition of oscillation (CO) and frequency of oscillation (FO) using 4 operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) and 2 grounded capacitors Is presented. The proposed oscillator provides 2 sinusoidal output currents with 90° phase difference. It also provides high output impedances that make the circuit can directly drive load without additional current buffers. The condition of oscillation and the frequency of oscillation can be electronically/independently controlled by adjusting the bias current of the OTA. The use of only grounded capacitors without any external resistor is ideal for integration.

    Analysis and design of injection-locking steerable active array applicator

    In this paper, the analysis, design and experimental results of active array applicator are presented. The injection-locking technique is used to alter the magnitude of the microwave sources so that the steering of near fields can be achieved. This technique can be applied for microwave hyperthermia cancer treatment to provide the large uniform temperature distribution. The complexity of the system can be reduced by using this technique. The study shows that the temperature distribution can be controlled by varying the modulation index, modulating frequency and initial phase of modulating signal. The temperature distribution is also affected by applicator configuration, spacing between applicators, and heating time. The Spectral Domain approach is used to analyze the near field and then the near field data are used to find the temperature distribution by using the Finite Difference method. The study is carried out at frequency of 2,450 MHz. This design is useful for implementation of the low cost steerable applicator.

    This paper investigates the principle of a steerable spherical slot array antcnna. By combining the advantages of a spherical array in which the beam shape can be kept constant as it is steered in any direction, a simple beam steering mechanism of an active array antenna and a simple array element, a cost effective steerable antenna can be achieved. This antenna is useful in a mobile communication system.
