Item type:Item, Pragmatic Design of a Rectangular Printed Dipole Array Antenna for 5G Base Station(2024-01-01) ;Pookkapund, Khanet ;Pukraksa, RerkchaiDentri, SitthichaiThis paper presents the design, fabrication and measurement of a rectangular printed dipole array antenna for 5G base stations. The antenna element is composed of a rectangular printed dipole featuring a U-shaped gap and slot positioned atop a square reflector. The measured results of the prototype antenna exhibit good agreement with simulations. The impedance bandwidth of the antenna is noteworthy, covering a substantial frequency range of 3.00 GHz - 3.82 GHz, yielding a bandwidth of 23%. The maximum gains are 6.49 dBi at a frequency of 3.5 GHz. The half-power beamwidths (HPBW) in the x-z and y-z planes are obtained to be 101.45° and 22.44°, respectively, at the frequency of 3.5 GHz. These results underscore the effectiveness of the designed rectangular printed dipole array antenna, showcasing its suitability for 5G base station applications. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, A GUI based Self-learning Tool for Polar Codes using Successive Cancellation and List Decoders(2020-11-04) ;Ahsan, Rafee Al ;Khichar, Sunita ;Phakphisut, Watid ;Wuttisittikulkij, LunchakornNgamjob, AudsadangRecently, the importance of channel coding has become prominent for next-generation 5G wireless communication networks. Channel coding is becoming an active area of research and scholars are aiming to improve their knowledge about channel coding schemes which will be playing a crucial part in high-performance 5G networks. polar codes are the class of channel coding techniques that have been standardized in 5G. Moreover, it is a fact that activity tool-based learning raises the learning efficiency and generates intrinsic motivation for learning. Therefore, the main motivation for designing this paper is to develop a Graphical User Interface (GUI) based learning tool to help students easily learn channel coding techniques. In our teaching curriculum, we have used figure-based interactive representations to teach the basic concepts of polar codes efficiently. This learning tool provides users the option to learn about the encoding technique and two different decoding techniques named as Successive Cancellation (SC) and Successive Cancellation List (SCL) for different lengths of user-defined data bits. This complete model has been designed in Python. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Energy Efficiency Enhancement in 5G Heterogeneous Cellular Networks Using System Throughput Based Sleep Control Scheme(2020-02-01) ;Dataesatu, Arif ;Boonsrimuang, Pornpawit ;Mori, KazuoBoonsrimuang, PisitCurrently, Cellular architectures are designed with an efficient providing infrastructure is one of the critical challenges in 5G dense heterogeneous cellular networks (HetNets). By adding many small base stations (SBSs) in a macro base station (MBS) is one way to support the rapid growth of mobile data communication, high data rate services and to provide continuous coverage. The high number of network elements leads to a significant increase in power consumption. To solve the problem, the SBS on/off algorithm has been introduced to reduce power consumption but also reduced energy efficiency as we called the conventional schemes. This paper we proposed as the SBS switching to sleep state algorithm based on the system throughput (MBS cell throughput and SBS cell throughput) is used the decision criteria for SBS to be in the sleep state. The simulation results, The proposed scheme can reduce the total power consumption of the network and enhance energy efficiency more than the conventional schemes.
