Item type:Item, Tire Pressure Monitoring System Using Low-Frequency RFID Energy Harvesting(2023-01-01) ;Lermthong, Sommart ;Airphaiboon, SurapanWisavataksin, SumekIn this paper, we deploy the RFID technology for a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). RFID has the distinguishing feature for transmitting power wirelessly to a TPMS device. This enables the TPMS system to work battery-less and overcome the disadvantages associated with batteries. Our proposed system receives power from a low-frequency 134.2 kHz transmitter and stores it in a capacitor to enable the TPMS transponder. This power can successfully operate and transmit data from the sensor through the ultra-high-frequency 433 MHz to a reader installed inside the vehicle. The experimental results showed that it took only 34 seconds to charge the power when the reader distance was 6 cm, and the speed was 100 km/h. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Path Loss Analysis of RFID Channles Measurement in Library with Metal Bookshelves(2023-01-01) ;Supramongkonset, JatupornPromwong, SathapornThe radio frequency identification (RFID) library management system has gained popularity in libraries due to its convenience and improved efficiency. Accurate channel modeling is crucial for predicting system performance and received power. This paper focuses on modeling the channel characteristics of metal bookshelves in RFID library management systems operating at a frequency of 2.45 GHz. We employ microstrip patch antennas as both transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) antennas, considering both vertical-vertical (V-V) and horizontal-horizontal (H-H) polarizations. Linear regression analysis models the path loss characteristic, allowing us to establish a mathematical relationship that accurately represents the path loss between the antennas. Furthermore, statistical models based on cumulative distribution function (CDF) are employed to characterize multipath fading, providing insights into the distribution of signal variations caused by multipath propagation. The experimental results indicate that metal bookshelves with V-V and H-H polarizations are suitable for the performance of RFID library management systems. The path loss models generated through linear regression analysis enable accurate prediction of received power, while the statistical models based on CDF contribute to a comprehensive understanding of multipath fading and its impact on system performance. This study provides valuable insights for librarians and system designers seeking to implement efficient and reliable RFID technology in library management systems. By examining and modeling the channel characteristics of metal bookshelves, our findings support the optimal use of V-V and H-H polarizations, ensuring the effective operation of RFID systems in library environments. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The purpose of this study is to establish a model to study the energy and efficiency of the system. Experimenting with two model of bookshelf models. Wood and metal bookshelves are used as models to measure data. Microstrip antenna are used as a transmitter (Tx antenna) and a receiver (Rx antenna) at frequency of 2.45 GHz channels in co-polarization. From the data of this measurement result, we can observe the tendency of path loss arising from the change in distance and the effect of the signal in both wood and metal bookshelf by the contouring of the path loss signal. The results showed that the co-polarization had higher path loss at increased distances. By path loss modeling using contour method it was found that at measuring point near the edge of the bookshelf There is path loss in the edge of metal bookshelf higher than the edges of wooden bookshelf. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The RFID propagation channel characteristics and environment effect should be known. In this study to evaluate the RFID propagation loss with wooden and metal bookshelves based on data of measurement. Experimental study evaluation of RFID multimedia system with bookshelves is using vector network analyzer (VNA) and the microstrip patch antennas of transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) antennas at a frequency range from 2.4 GHz to 2.5 GHz. The results of experiment are considering the path loss, received signal strength (RSS), and comparison the path loss differences with cumulative distribution function (CDF) to evaluated, respectively. The chipless RFID sensor is designed based on the multiple resonant printed on the flexible substrate of Polyimide (r = 3.5 and tan δ = 0.0027). The humidity of the material under test is identified using the chipless RFID sensor based on the multi-resonators. This chipless sensor can be generated 5 bits of identification (ID). Furthermore, the orientation effect of the plane wave is studied. The results shows that the flexible chipless RFID sensor can be identified the different dielectric constant that related with the water content in the material. Item type:Item, Experimental study of a vibration based energy harvesting system for an RFID module(2018-07-02) ;Khemmanee, B. ;Tattiwong, K.Bunlaksananusorn, C.In recent years, an application of a piezoelectric transducer to harvest energy from ambient vibrations has been a subject of intense research. As the material technology advances, the amount of energy being able to produce by the transducer continues to increase. This paper presents an experimental study of a vibration based energy harvesting system for an RFID module. The system consists of a piezoelectric transducer, a power management circuit based on a buck converter, and an RFID module. The transducer converts mechanical movement produced by a finger press into a voltage to charge an input capacitor. The buck converter then converts the input capacitor voltage into a stable DC output voltage to power the RFID module. Item type:Item, Dual-band circularly polarized flat antenna with plano convex and concave slots for RFID readers(2017-11-01) ;Wongsakulphasatch, PrawatePhongcharoenpanich, ChuwongThis article has proposed a circularly polarized dual-band antenna with unidirectional pattern operating at the bandwidth frequencies of 920–925 MHz and 2.40–2.48 GHz for radiofrequency identification (RFID) readers. The proposed antenna structure is of a radiating patch with a single feeder and two pairs of plano convex and concave slots. This work has innovated and utilized the convex and concave slotting technique to generate the circular polarization. The simulated results showed that the dual-band antenna is of circular polarization (CP) and unidirectional radiation pattern with the 3 dB axial ratio and the respective gains of 1.31 and 1.36 dBic for the experimental lower and upper bandwidth frequencies. An antenna prototype was subsequently fabricated and tests performed. The simulated and measured results are in good agreement, rendering the proposed dual-band antenna with plano convex and concave slots suitably applicable to the ultrahigh frequency and microwave RFID readers. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Sweden using RFID, oversees a 13,000 km network of trains and track keeping the heavily used mechanical equipment from breaking. With RFID Technology being heralded as a prime solution to the problem of real-time tracking in the transportation arena, the researchers therefore undertook a study to discover the factors influencing the performance management of a 'smart grid' bus system within the Bangkok Metropolitan area by use of a structural equation model. Since, mass transit systems are a critical component of urban environments today, adoption of RFID technologies as a tool to help manage transportation networks can have far ranging advantages, including preventive maintenance, cost savings, convenience, safety and commuter time savings. Organizations can reduce operational costs as well lowering trip cycles. They can also reduce transit times per round trip and know in real time when a vehicle has been deployed. Additionally, the RFID market has huge potential to technology forms as it has increased from USD $6.51 billion in 2011 to $9.2 billion in 2014, projecting to reach globally in 2024 $30.24 billion. Thus far Thailand has been a small player in both consumer terms and technology implementation. Understanding the affects might aid in its implementation and use. Item type:Item, Dual-band circular plate antenna with annular-ring slot and four-paired rectangular slots(2013-09-02) ;Boonying, Komkris ;Phongcharoenpanich, ChuwongKosulvit, SompolThis paper presents dual-band circular plate antenna with an inserted annular-ring slot and four-paired rectangular slots excited by a feeding probe for RFID applications. The operating frequencies of the RFID system are 920 MHz to 925 MHz and 2.4 GHz to 2.5 GHz. It is found that at two bands, 922.5 MHz and 2.45 GHz, the S<inf>11</inf> are -14.7 dB and -23.2 dB, respectively. The radiation pattern of the proposed antenna radiates unidirectional beam with vertical polarization for both bands. The half-power beamwidths at 922.5 MHz in XZ-plane and XY-plane are 63.4 ° and 80.1 °, whereas ones at 2.45 GHz in XZ-plane and XY-plane are 35.5 ° and 57.6 °, respectively. P.Chaiyasoonthorn, S.We propose a new system of the THz carrier generation that can be used to support the new optical communication bandwidth, which can be useful for the large demand radio frequency identification (RFID). The design system consists of a nonlinear microring resonator system incorporating an add/drop filter and the common laser, where in this case the input source is a Gaussian pulse with center wavelengths at 1300 nm. The ring radii and coupling coefficients (κs) are 5-12 μm 0.10-0.97, respectively. The generated carriers for a new THz RFID are ranged between 0.2 THz and 0.4 THz. The multichannels RFID are obtained. There are more than 300 channels generated and noted using only a single center wavelength, i.e., 1300 nm. © 2012 Published by Elsevier GmbH.
