Item type:Publication, Application of EFA and AHP in the Last-Mile Delivery Service in Thailand(2023-01-01)Significant growth in electronic commerce in the 2010s has led to substantial expansion in last-mile delivery service for packages. Shifts in people's daily lifestyles also stimulate demand for the delivery of groceries and ready-to-consume meals. While the increasing number of last-mile delivery service providers offers customers more alternatives, the decision-making process involves more factors than just price and time. This paper aims to reveal factors affecting the decision to select last-mile delivery service providers by using exploratory factor analysis and analytical hierarchy process. Data were collected in two periods for differential analysis. It has been found that apart from price, quality, and time, customers are also concerned about the safety of online transactions and service innovation. Alarmingly, the environment is the least influential decision factor, leading to recommendations to further investigation on green practices awareness in the industry. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A Systematic Literature Review of Last-Mile Delivery: Analyzing Current Situations and Identifying Research Gaps for Future Perspectives(2025-01-01); ;Noom, Sai Pim Khay ;Sanganate, PhuwitLast-mile delivery (LMD) has become a critical challenge in logistics, driven by the rapid rise of e-commerce and growing consumer expectations for speed, flexibility, and sustainability. Despite significant advances in optimization models, simulation techniques, and machine learning applications, existing reviews remain fragmented and offer limited comparison of methodological strengths. This study addresses this gap through a systematic literature review of LMD research published between 2019 and 2025, following the PRISMA framework. Out of 162 screened publications, 33 were analyzed using bibliometric mapping in R and methodological clustering in Python. The analysis identifies four methodological streams: optimization and mathematical modeling, simulation and heuristics, multi-criteria and learning models, and literature-based analytical studies. Beyond classification, the study highlights critical gaps, including the limited integration of behavioral factors, financial trade-offs, and policy implications. By mapping methodological trends and proposing targeted research directions, this work provides a foundation for advancing more resilient, adaptive, and sustainable last-mile delivery systems. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Assessing the UAVs' Requirements and Capabilities For Humanitarian Logistics Operations in Thailand(2023-01-01) ;Yeh, Natthajira ;Siriwat, Chatchaya ;Weeraburus, NichapatThis article aims to identify and assess the design requirements and capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles used in the area of humanitarian logistics, particularly for the delivery of aid packages, to alleviate the impact and casualties from natural disaster's victims in Thailand. Designed restrictions and sub-restrictions were identified from past literature and an expert interview. By applying a multi-criteria decision-making analysis tool, which is the analytical hierarchy process, design restrictions and sub-restrictions was quantified and prioritized. Primary data was collected through private, face-to-face interviews. Respondents are UAV pilots, UAV developers from associated industries, and UAV researcher. The computed outputs revealed that the payload capacity of the UAVs, the weight of aid packages, the flight range, and the battery power capacity were among the sub-restrictions with the highest relative importance, while flight performance is the most important restrictions in the drones' design requirements. On the contrary, the speed of UAV and the operating cost were the sub-restrictions with the smallest effect. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Exploring Research Trends in Air-rail Passenger Transport Relationships Through a Content-based Analysis(2022-01-01); ;Sualoy, NitjananPienpookhao, KittiwadeeBackground: Air and rail passenger transport was initially considered to be competitive. However, as both modes have been developed, several other forms of relationships have been introduced and become more complicated, leading to the investigation of research trends in the air-rail passenger transport relationship. Gap: There are few studies on the relationships between air and rail passenger transport, lacking research synthesis application. Aims: This paper classifies and analyzes the relationships between air and rail passenger transport based on research publications between January 2006 and December 2020. Objectives: The objective of this study is 1) to investigate the possible forms of relationships the air-rail passenger transport based on existing studies, 2) to reveal research themes and trends, and 3) to propose research potentials in the air-rail passenger transport. Methods: The study uses a content-based analysis by deriving research articles from transportation and databases. A total of 472 articles were initially identified and screened. One hundred and forty-five articles were included in the final synthesis. Results: Air-rail relationships were categorized as a modal comparison, competition, cooperation, integration and influence. Research has been found to rely heavily on the mixture of modal competition, integration and influence. Furthermore, it has been pointed out that the influence between air and rail passenger transport has a one-way effect; air carriers are affected by the entrance of high-speed trains but not in a reverse direction. China has been an emerging context of this topic over the past five years and is likely to dominate the air-rail research due to its extensive high-speed rail networks and vast developments in large airports. Conclusion: In terms of the air-rail infrastructure development, it was suggested that modal cooperation was outdated due to lacking seamless connectivity features. Future research might explore the deficient research disciplines, including transport sustainability, business practices and tourism, as well as the impact of the coronavirus disease pandemic in reshaping the air-rail passenger transport industry. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Success Factors and Partnership Evaluation of Air–Rail Integration Development: A Case of a High-Speed Rail Project Linking Three Airports in Thailand(2024-07-01); ;Suwannarat, Benyapa ;Samittivate, NitchamolNithikittiwat, ChanuwatAs the air–rail integration continues to emerge around the globe, the successful and maintainable implementation of such schemes can be influenced by many factors within administrative, social, infrastructural, and economic aspects. With the existing airport rail link system that shifted from air–rail integration at beginning to air–rail cooperation at present, this work aims to assess the success factors of air–rail integration development in Thailand and evaluate the partnership level required to achieve a long-term and indefinite horizon of relationship based on an ongoing airport rail link project in the country. The factor assessment results from using fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (AHP) revealed different perspectives from regulators and operators, while directing the high influence of administrative, economic, and infrastructural factors. The partnership evaluation suggested the highest level of partnership; although, the operators still express doubt whether the competitive advantages incurred from the partnership and the partnership itself would be sustainable.
