Item type:Publication, Ultrasonic-assisted extraction of gallic acid and isoquercetin from aspergillus Niger fermented tri-phala waste(2018-08-14); Pakaweerachat, PattarabhornThe Aspergillus Niger fermented Tri-phala waste (FTW) was extracted with ultrasonic assisted extraction (UAE) using deionized water as an extraction medium at 30°C. The 40 kHz ultrasonic frequency was used for sonicate the FTW immerged in the water at the ratio of 1: 100 for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 min. The contents of gallic acid, isoquercetin obtained after extraction were measured by HPLC. The extraction yields of gallic acid and isoquercetin were compared with the yields from the water extraction without ultrasonic assistance (control condition). The results showed that using the ultrasonic assistance increased the extraction yield of gallic acid from 0.25±0.03 to 1.26±0.25 g.g<sup>-1</sup> with the shorter extraction time from 60 min to 30 min. Moreover, isoquercetin extraction yield increased from 0.17±0.02 to 0.41±0.04 g.g<sup>-1</sup> with the shorter extraction time from 60 min to 20 min. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Effect of Sterilizing Temperature on Physical Properties of Rice Porridge Mixed with Legumes and Job's Tear in Retortable Pouch(2015-12-01); Phongpipatpong, MaradeeCommercial sterilization was studied for a production of the ready-to-eat (RTE) brown rice porridge mixed with legumes and job's tear in retortable pouch in this research. Since particles contained in the product possibly cause an undercooking, this study aimed to evaluate the lethality (F value) of the process and determine the effects of the process temperatures (122, 116 and 110C) on the physical properties of the product. The investigated physical properties consisted of viscosity and colors (L*a*b*) of rice porridge, and hardness of legumes and job's tear. The F value of 4.02min was determined for this product (fill weight 202±2g, pouch size 130mm×170mm×30mm). Furthermore, reducing process temperature from 122 to 110C significantly increased the product's viscosity, whereas its lightness and the hardness of red kidney bean, soy bean, black eye pea, black bean and job's tear decreased significantly (P<0.05). - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Effects of starch and protein on glucosamine content in the biomass of Monascus ruber(2013-10-25); ;Takahashi, Reiji ;Asami, KazuhiroOhtaguchi, KazuhisaBiomass and its glucosamine content were measured for Monascus ruber after its cultivation on solid media containing different amounts of rice starch and protein. The protein was supplied as either yeast extract or peptone. The ratios of carbohydrate weight and protein weight (C/P ratio) in the media in this study were 2.2, 2.7, 20, 29, 34, and 60. Biomass production increased when the C/P ratio increased. The results show a linear relationship between the glucosamine content in biomass of M. ruber and the C/P ratio of media. We have successfully used this linear relationship to predict the glucosamine content in the biomass of M. ruber on rice flour medium. Item type:Publication, Cellulase production by Aspergillus Niger ATCC 16888 on copra waste from coconut milk process in layered packed-bed bioreactor(2018-07-01)Solid-state fermentation (SSF) has been used to produce value-added products from agricultural and food processing wastes, but the majority of SSF production has been conducted on a small scale due to the limitations of heat and mass transfer. This research aimed to reduce the temperature changes in packed-bed bioreactor during the cellulase fermentation of Aspergillus Niger ATCC 16888 on copra waste from coconut milk process. The three configurations of bioreactor used in this study consisted of one-(control), two- and three-layered packed-bed bioreactors. Total volumes of packed-bed bioreactor and bed material were 127 and 57 L, respectively. The sterilized air 30 °C was forced from the bottom of bioreactor at 0.20 vvm. The highest cellulase production (5.0 ± 0.4 FPU g<sup>-1</sup> <inf>DS</inf>) was obtained from the bottom zone of the three-layered bioreactor after fermenting for 1 d. However, the greatest growth was found at the top one, in which a large amount of aerial mycelium was detected.
