Item type:Publication, Design and construction of a three phase of self-exited induction generator(2008-12-01) ;Sawetsakulanond, B. ;Hothongkham, P.This paper proposes the design and construction of three phase, 220/380 V, 3.4/2.0 A, δγ connected, 4 poles, 0.75 kW a self-exited induction generator (SEIG). Analysis of the designed SEIG uses a finite element method. The designed SEIG has been tested and compared with a standard SEIG under operating conditions such as no-load and on-load with pure resistive load. Consideration of capacitance for the SEIG based on equivalent circuit model under steady-state load conditions and a power flow diagram is given. Item type:Publication, Performance comparison of an asymmetrical parameter type two-phase induction motor supplied with balanced and unbalanced phase voltages(2010-07-30) ;Piyarat, W. ;Hothongkham, P.This paper presents a performance comparison of an asymmetrical parameter type two-phase induction motor supplied with balabced and unbalanced phase voltages using a three-leg voltage source inverter (VSI). Sinusoidal pulse width modulation(SPWM) method with constant V/F control is used for the two phase three leg inverter. Simulation and experimemtal results are used to evaluate the motor performance. It is found that the unbalanced applied voltage case offers the better motor perfoemance over the balanced applied voltage case in terms of torque ripple, speed holding capability and current trajectories, etc. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Analysis and comparative study on operating of induction generators under transient and steady state conditions at no-load and full-load have been performed. Item type:Publication, Simple speed control of an asymmetrical type two-phase induction motor drive(2010-07-30) ;Piyarat, Wekin ;Hothongkham, P. ;Charumit, C.This paper presents a simple speed control method of an asymmetrical parameter type two-phase induction motor drive using a three-leg voltage source inverter (VSI). The two-phase induction motor is adapted from an existing single-phase induction motor resulting in impedance unbalance between main and auxiliary windings. Thus in order to improve the performance it needs an unbalanced phase supply. Mathematical model is derived for the simulation. The design of a speed controller is fully given. The overall system is implemented on a DSP board. The validity of the proposed system is verified by simulation and experimental results.
