Item type:Publication, Recursive-formula for second-harmonic generation problem in photonic hypercrystal(2022-09-01); ;Plaipichit, Suwan ;Puttharugsa, ChokchaiWicharn, SurawutIn this work, we proposed a recursive-formula based on transfer-matrix method to solve problem of second-harmonic generation by obliquely incident fundamental-harmonic wave in a photonic hypercrystal, which is composed of one-dimensional periodically alternating arrangement of nonlinear hyperbolic metamaterial layer with anisotropic permittivities: ε<inf>axx</inf>, ε<inf>azz</inf> and layer thickness: a and linear dielectric layer with isotropic permittivity: ε<inf>a</inf> and layer thickness: b. This proposed formula was very simple and accurate for calculating conversion efficiency of second-harmonic generation at various incident angles of fundamental-harmonic wave and thicknesses of nonlinear hyperbolic metamaterial layer. The numerical results showed that the maximum conversion efficiency can be achieved by the strong local field confinement of fundamental-harmonic wave in the photonic hypercrystal and phase-matching due to optimal values of hypercrystal layer thickness and incident angle of fundamental-harmonic wave. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Photorefractive Effect in an Imperfect Cerium Doped Barium Titanate Crystal: Reflection Grating Case(2026-01-01) ;Khotphuthon, Wasuphon ;Plaipichit, Suwan ;Suchat, SuebtarkulThe photorefractive (PR) effect, a nonlinear optic phenomenon, occurs in materials that have electro-optic (EO) properties. When two coherent beams of light interfere with each other in a PR material, donor electrons between valence band and conduction band, caused by material impurity, absorb the photon and are excited into the conduction band and generate electron-hole pairs. This process induces a periodic electric field called a space charge field that alters the material’s refractive index due to the EO effect. In this research, we explored reflection grating (RG) in an imperfect Ce-doped BaTiO3 crystal and then showed optical image correlation using the RG. Two beam coupling was investigated using two non-Gaussian incident beams on the opposite surface of an imperfect Ce-doped BaTiO3 crystal. Light at green wavelengths from a semiconductor laser was used as the source of the incident beams and entered at certain angles relative to the crystal c-axis. Large beam coupling power was observed in both incident directions when the angle between both incident beams is at Bragg’s angle in the direction of the c-axis. The diffraction light was found to be in the same polarization as the incident beam. In addition, interesting results for the optical correlation using reflection grating were demonstrated. These results suggest that by doping BaTiO3 with cerium, strong beam coupling or photorefractive grating can be observed with certain incident writing angles on the crystal, which could be utilized in future flexible holographic devices in the future. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The direct measurement of the photorefractive grating on anisotropic self diffraction using digital holography(2014-09-02) ;Plaipichit, Suwan; ; Jindajitawat, PhuminIn this paper, the measurement of grating period in photorefractive anisotropic self diffraction by using digital holography technique is proposed. In our experimental setup, He -Ne laser beam with wavelength of 632.8 nm has been separated and then incident on photorefractive cerium doped barium titanate crystal to produce photorefractive index grating. The transmitted probe beam, which contains phase and amplitude has been expanded and recorded on digital camera. To explore the grating periods, both phase and amplitude of the images are reconstructed by numerical process using computer. Then the grating periods in photorefractive anisotropic self diffraction have been measured. The results show grating periods, holograms and their reconstruction. © 2014 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Contact Angle Measurement of Melting SnAgCu Solder Paste Mix with Carbon Allotropes Using In-Line Digital Holography Technique(2021-01-01) ;Mamart, Wikatsama; ;Boonsri, Chantira ;Plaipichit, SuwanIn this research we investigated the contact angle of commercial SnAgCu solder paste mixing with some carbon allotropes such as graphite, graphene quantum dots, and fullerene of varying concentrations with melting temperature, wettability, interfacial microstructure. The wettability was assessed in terms of the contact angle. The in-line digital holography was used for determining the contact angle and morphological of samples at each temperature which the samples have been heating from room temperature until the melting temperature. In the experiment, only one beam was used as the object and reference beams which recorded by a CMOS camera. The recorded image was reconstructed by the angular spectrum digital holography numerical programing. Using the reconstructed images of our results, the shape and contact angle of solder pastes can be investigated. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, A numerical investigation of broadband absorption of TE-polarized wave in photonic hypercrystal(2020-01-01) ;Reangchan, Nareephorn ;Plaipichit, Suwan ;Puttharugsa, Chokchai; Wicharn, SurawutIn this study, we numerically investigated the absorption properties in one-dimensional photonic hypercrystal (PHC), which was consisted of a periodically alternating layers of hyperbolic metamaterial and dielectric material. The first layer of the unit cell of the PHC is a hyperbolic metamaterial (HMM), which made of the two-dimensional square lattice arrangement of gold (Au) nanowire embedded in indium tin oxide (ITO) host and the second layer is the same dielectric material used in metamaterial system. First, the nanowire array hyperbolic metamaterial was designed for providing high extinction coefficient in visible light to near infrared region by optimizing the radius of each Au nanowires. Then, a transfer-matrix method (TMM) was used as the numerical tool for calculating the absorption spectrum of the PHC for both TE- and TM-polarization. The numerical results showed that the PHC structure provides the widest absorption spectrum in the range of 500 to 1,000 nm for TE-polarized wave incidence. The bandwidth of interesting absorption spectrum is increased when increasing the layer thickness of the composed dielectric material. The level of absorbance of PHC is enhanced by increasing the number of periods. Conversely, the absorbance of PHC structure is decreased with the greater incident angle. Finally, the fill factor of nanowire hyperbolic metamaterial will make the shifting of absorption spectrum into long-wavelength region when it is decreased. Meanwhile, the absorption of TM-polarized wave in PHC structure is too low when comparing with TE-wave case. Due to the influence of the above parameters on the absorption spectrum for TE-polarized wave, so the PHC may be used as the TE broadband absorber for energy harvesting application. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Property investigation of photorefractive crystal using transport of intensity technique(2020-01-01) ;Poungprasert, Maneerat ;Plaipichit, Suwan ;Bantitadawit, ParutThe purpose of the study was to investigate of photorefractive Bragg gratings within iron-doped lithium niobate crystals with the size of seven cubic millimeters. Polarized helium-neon laser beams with a wavelength of 633 nm have been separated into two beams and then incident on the crystal with different angles. Both beams were used for writing the grating in the crystal with the incident angle (2θ). and the angle between both beams has been founded the highest efficiency of diffraction beams. Then the transport of intensity method was used to explore the grating characteristics by using the opposite polarization of the writing helium-neon laser beam. Images in focus and defocus before and after the focal plane was recorded on a Canon digital camera. Then, these images were used to process by computer programing based on the principle of transport of intensity equation. By using this technique, the grating characteristics in lithium niobate crystals would be investigated. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Hybrid nanowire-hyperbolic metamaterial based broadband absorber for the visible and near-infrared regions(2021-12-01); ;Plaipichit, Suwan ;Puttharugsa, ChokchaiWicharn, SurawutIn this work, spectral absorbance of hybrid nanowire-hyperbolic metamaterial was investigated numerically by using transfer-matrix method. The hybrid nanowire-hyperbolic metamaterial is consisted of two-dimensional periodically arranged arrays of subwavelength-sized hybrid nanowires (with circular cross-section) embedded in silicon dioxide host matrix. Each hybrid nanowire is made by core-shell structure used silicon as a core and gold as a shell. The hybrid nanowire-hyperbolic metamaterial is used as a top layer of a broadband absorber. The top layer is over on a planar silicon dioxide layer, which is backed by a nano-sized layer of gold as a perfect reflector for guaranteeing high absorbance. When electromagnetic waves in the range of 400–1600 nm wavelength are obliquely incident on the top hybrid nanowire-hyperbolic metamaterial surface, the absorption spectra of the designed absorber structure are analyzed for different incident angles, and radii of hybrid nanowire components or fill-factor of the hyperbolic metamaterial layer. The multiple absorption peaks, which are continuously generated from multiple longitudinal and transverse surface plasmon modes and are supported by the hybrid nanowires, are observed directly. The absorption feature can be also tuned by various operational conditions. The proposed structure is made by in-complex nano-fabricating techniques comparing with the another and it provides acceptable broadband absorptivity. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The electrochemical measurements investigation of NiCo2O4for electrode materials of energy storage devices by using digital holography technique(2021-01-01) ;Prakobsang, Tawipon ;Saei, Worawee ;Kongsubto, Thee; The electrochemical properties of NiCo2O4for using as electrode materials for the potential applications have been investigated by electrochemical measurement which composed of cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanostatic chargedischarge (GCD). These processes are generating the ion exchange between the electrode and electrolyte, wherein induce the surface change of the interface. Especially, since in the cycle ability measurement using the potentiostat needed to repeat the cycle into the electrode for many times, the effective of the electrode is reduced. In this research, digital holographic technique was used to investigate the different properties of interface of the NiCo2O4 electrode while operating under the various electrochemical techniques. In our DH recording, the surface change of the electrode was expose at the difference potential scan rate at 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 200 mV/s of CV, and the difference current densities at 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 and 20 A/g of GCD and vary times of cycle ability test every 50 cycle times to 1000 cycles. In the end the reconstructed DH images of the electrode have been used to analyze the results from electrochemical measurement.
