Item type:Publication, Structure and piezoelectric properties of aluminum nitride thin films on quartz substrates deposited by reactive RF-magnetron sputtering(2013-07-08) ;Thedsakhulwong, Amorn; Thowladda, WarawootThis paper presents the effect of nitrogen concentration (C<inf>N</inf>) on aluminum-nitride bonding formation, structure and morphology of the aluminum nitride films. The films on the unheated substrates were deposited by radio frequency reactive magnetron sputtering technology using an aluminum target under argon/nitrogen mixture atmosphere. The FTIR and Raman spectra of the films confirmed their absorption bands corresponding to E<inf>1</inf> (TO), A<inf>1</inf> (TO), and E<inf>2</inf> (high) vibration modes of the infrared active aluminum-nitride bonding. The crystallographic orientation of the films was optimized under C<inf>N</inf> of 40%. The cross-sectional FE-SEM image of the film under this condition showed the columnar structure. The dense columnar grains were uniformly observed on the films surface under all C<inf>N</inf>, except for C<inf>N</inf> of 20%. The bulk resistivity and piezoelectric property were investigated via the metal-insulator-metal structures. The results showed that the resistivity was in a range of 10<sup>14</sup>-10<sup>15</sup> Ωcm while the effective piezoelectric coefficient was 11.03 pm/V. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Copper nanowires on NaCl (110) template(2013-04-29)We studied optical properties of copper nanowires fabricated by a shadow deposition method. We found that the optical absorption spectra of thinner nanowires exhibited stronger anisotropic absorption than thickner nanowires. Absorption maxima are located at lower photon energy when incident field is parallel to the wire axes than they are perpendicular to each other. Item type:Publication, Nitrogen concentrations on structural and optical properties of aluminum nitride films deposited by reactive RF-magnetron sputtering(2013-02-04) ;Thedsakhulwong, Amorn; Thowladda, WarawootWe have fabricated Aluminum Nitride (AlN) films on the quartz substrates using RFreactive magnetron sputtering method. The conditions of the films have been performed under different concentration ratios between nitrogen and argon. We have found that all obtained films were transparent in visible wavelength. By using X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique, it was found that the (002), (102) and (103) orientations were shown in XRD patterns. The (002) orientation was dominant when nitrogen concentration (C<inf>N</inf>) was at 40%. On the other hand, the refractive index and optical band gap energy of the films were determined as a function of C<inf>N</inf>. Item type:Publication, Simulation of copper thin film thickness optimization for surface plasmon using the finite element method(2017-01-01); ; Chittayasothorn, SuphamitThis paper presents a computer simulation of optical activations based on the Kretschmann configuration using a prism for the observation of the surface plasmon wave. This is according to the condition of the dispersion relation. The analysis of the electric field of the surface plasmon wave which appears at the interface between the metal layer and the air layer is done by using the Finite Element Method (FEM). The simulation is performed using the COMSOL Multiphysics software which supports the FEM. The objective of our experiment is to find the most suitable thickness of the metal thin film which is most suitable for the surface plasmon excitation when activated by 632.5 nm red laser light source. The red laser light source is commonly available and also very economical. The metal used in our work is copper which is an economical noble metal and gives better conductivity than gold. The findings from the simulation will be used in the future high precision physical experiments. The outcome of this research project, the surface plasmon wave on copper thin film, is expected to be used in bio-molecular detectors or high speed THz communications. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Effects of gold nanoparticles on fluorescence polarization and emission spectra of rhodamine 6G solution(2018-01-01); ;Rammarat, EkkachaiFluorescence polarization and emission spectra of Rhodamine 6G solution with gold nanoparticles have been studied. It is found that the emission intensities tend to be low when the gold nanoparticles are added into the solution partly due to the energy transfer from the Rhodamine 6G to gold nanoparticles. The fluorescence polarization increases as the concentration ratio of the gold and Rhodamine 6G is more than 124 and decreases as the ratio is about 1115. The enhancement and reduction of fluorescence polarization values are understood as the shortening of the fluorescence lifetime and a temperature effect from the heating of gold nanoparticles, respectively. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

We have then investigated optical properties of these nanowires by studying the second harmonic generation (SHG) spectra. Item type:Publication, Improvement of thermal performance of gamma-type stirling engine(2018-06-04) ;Saenyot, Khanuengchat ;Chamdee, Peerapong ;Raksrithong, Pawin; The gamma-type stirling engine was designed and fabricated using three main types of the materials for the engine assembly in order to get better the heat transfer between the cold and hot sides of the engine cylinders. Stainless steel and brass were applied for the hot cylinder, whereas aluminum was used for the cold cylinder. We have achieved the indicated work, engine speed and indicated power of 71.64 mJ, 599 rpm and 0.71 J/s, respectively. Furthermore, we were able to accomplish the constant temperature difference of 300 K with the thermal efficiency of 40 %. The improvement of the engine performance was confirmed by the heat flow simulation via the Solidwork program. Our inexpensive home-made engine is expected to be very useful for the people in the rural areas where the electricity is unable to reach them. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Nonlinear optical properties of controlled fabrication of copper nanowires by a shadow deposition(2013-01-28)The strongly geometrical shape, high aspect ratios, and nanoscale cross-section of nanowires is expected to affect optical properties through confinement effects. Herein we have investigated optical properties of Cu nanowires with studies of second harmonic generation (SHG) spectra. These optical properties of Cu nanowires will be one of the most important issues when considering the types of materials used in current applications and development of new applications. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
