Item type:Publication, A meta-logical approach for multi-agent communication of semantic web information(2006-01-01); Xuan, Vuong TranThe success of the semantic web would be determined by how easy and uniform to access to and exchange of the semantic information among computers. In this paper we have developed a framework of multi-agent communication of the Semantic Web information. The agent and the communication between agents are characterized in meta-logic. One single agent, understood as a meta-logical system, adopts a demo(.) predicate as its inference engine and meta-programs—transformed from some Semantic Web ontologies—as its assumptions. Such an agent can reason with its assumptions as well as other agent’s assumptions. With this ability, when several agents are created by using this framework, the community of these agents can uniformly communicate the Semantic Web information between each other on the Internet. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, An Agent Approach for Intelligent Traffic-Light Control(2007-01-01); Krohkaew, JaturapithIn this paper we have adopted an agent approach for traffic light control. According to this approach, our system consists of agents and their world. In the traffic context, the world consists of cars, road networks, traffic lights, etc. Each of these agents controls all traffic lights at a road junction by an observe-think-act cycle. That is, the agent repeatedly observes the current traffic condition at the junction, it then uses this information to reason with condition-action rules to determine how the agent should act in what traffic condition, and finally it performs those actions in order to efficiently manage the traffic flows. We have also developed a NetLogo-based traffic simulator to serve as the agents¿ world. Our approach is experimented with traffic control of a few connected junctions and the result obtained is promising; it can reduce the average delayed time of each car at each traffic-light near a junction rather substantially when compared with other approaches. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A meta-logical approach for reasoning with semantic web ontologies(2006-12-01); Xuan, Vuong TranThe design of Semantic Web markup languages, such as RDF, RDFS, and OWL, has been influenced by many different concepts, such as semantic structures and frame representations, object-oriented approaches, Description Logic, and first-order logic. Currently a Semantic Web ontology represented in these different languages is processed and manipulated differently by various approaches; however, in this paper we propose a single framework using meta-logic which can process the ontology in a uniform manner. Meta-logic allows us to reason with statements about description of classes, properties, instances, and their relationships expressed in RDF, RDFS, and OWL. This is accomplished by: initially an ontology, represented in combined RDF, RDFS, and OWL languages, is transformed to meta-logical statements representing definitions of classes and properties, relationships between classes and properties, and relationships between instances, etc.; later these statements are reasoned by a meta-interpreter which provides a query answering mechanism to infer meta and context information from the Semantic Web ontology. © 2006 IEEE.
