Item type:Publication, DETERMINANTS OF AI-BASED APPLICATIONS ADOPTION IN THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR – MULTI-GROUP ANALYSIS(2024-01-01); ; ; ;Ślusarczyk, BeataThis research investigated the factors determining the adoption of AI-based applications in Thailand and Poland’s agricultural sectors. The study explored the sector’s adoption of AI technology and its contributions to driving the market and business performance. Despite the potential of AI in the agricultural sector, its adoption rate still needs to be clarified, and its potential needs to be better understood, hence the need for the study. The research applied primary data collected from respondents working in the agricultural sector in Thailand and Poland using a structured questionnaire. A sample of 356 and 377 respondents were representative samples in Thailand and Poland, respectively. The research was driven by the hypotheses evaluated using the Structural Equation Model (SEM). The findings indicated that organizational size was the most influential determinant of AI-based applications in both countries. Another significant determinant was technological competence in both countries. Additionally, social influence was a significant determinant in Thailand, while facilitating conditions and effort expectancy were significant determinants in Poland. The multi-group analysis revealed that the two countries were not invariant; hence, the effect of independent variables on behavioral intention to adopt AI between the two countries was different. The research recommended that each country’s policymakers consider its contexts differently in AI-based application adoption policies. However, improving the organizational size and technological competence would enhance the adoption of AI-based applications across the board. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The data collected were analyzed using the partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. The results of the proposed model prove that innovativeness, proactiveness, and risk-taking ability of SMEs have a significant positive influence on the learning orientation and business strategy of firms. Further, the results of indirect effects show that learning orientation and business strategy mediates between the positive relationship of dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation and firm performance. The mediating effect of learning orientation and business strategy contributes to the resource-based view (RBV) and provides useful insights to managers regarding policy formation and implementation to improve business performance. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Exploring the adoption of photovoltaic cleaning robots: An institutional management approach(2024-09-01) ;Promvongsanon, Rubporn; There is increased adoption of renewable energy, particularly photovoltaic (PV), as a major source of clean and environmentally friendly energy. With the wide application of PV technologies, commonly called solar panels, their appropriate maintenance and cleaning are vital for optimum PV energy generation. The research focuses on exploring the various factors attributed to influence the want, intention and need to use PV panel cleaning robots in Thailand from an institutional management perspective. The study adopted the extended C-TAM-TPB by adding three more variables-Trust in technology, awareness of renewable energy, and environmental concern. A quantitative approach was used, where primary data was collected from PV institutional users. A population sample of 411 respondents was used. The confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) came in handy in evaluating the performance model, with the study's hypotheses being evaluated by the structural equation modeling (SEM). Results indicated that most of the subjective behaviors, perceived behavioral controls, and trust in technology played a key role in determining the intention and need to use solar panel cleaning robots. Perceived usefulness was found to have significant influence towards PV panel adoption. The influence of attitude was mediated by several factors – environmental concern, renewable energy awareness, trust in technology. The study recommended that the institutional users of solar panels should consider investing in knowledge regarding perceived behavioral control, developing confidence in the use of renewable and sustainable energy, and developing trust of the renewable and sustainable energy technologies. This could be achieved through programs such as public awareness, sharing accurate information regarding solar panel cleaning robots, and providing support and after sales support. Item type:Publication, The Economic Shockwaves of the Russia-Ukraine Conflict and Energy Sources Prices – The Impact on International Energy Markets(2024-01-01) ;Kot, Sebastian ;Piontek, BarbaraThe Russia-Ukraine conflict has raised concerns regarding the stability of the global energy sector, considering that Russia is a big player in the industry, producing and exporting crude oil and natural gas globally. This study aimed to empirically investigate the impact of the conflict on the prices of energy sources in international markets. The analysis was conducted using secondary data. The data was for prices of various commodity products, including diesel, petroleum, natural gas, and crude oil. The data was collected on multiple international markets for periods from January 1, 2021 to November 30, 2023. The analysis was conducted using trend analysis and event study. The capital asset pricing model (CAPM) was adopted to run the event study analysis. The results indicated that immediately after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, major energy products such as US crude oil, European crude oil, and the global energy index experienced a sharp rise in price, followed by significant price volatility over the following up to seven months. The review of OPEC energy prices also indicated an increase in prices, and volatility was experienced in countries producing and exporting oil products. The event study further revealed that there was a sharp increasing trend immediately after the event date and an upward trend for more than ten months after the event, resulting in the highest prices recorded in the event window. The study suggested three policy implications-conflict should serve as a wake-up call on diversification of energy sources, investment in alternative, sustainable and green sources of energy to reduce the dependence on oil, and promotion of international cooperation on energy security. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
