Item type:Publication, Highly-transparent multi-layered spin-coated silk fibroin film(2017-01-01); ;Kaewpirom, Supranee; In this study, the silk fibroin films with different numbers of layers were fabricated by the spin-coating method and their optical transmittances were observed. The process to synthesise the silk fibroin solution was explained - starting from the silk cocoon until the silk-fibroin solution, approximately 7.5% concentration wt/vol, was obtained. The solution was spin-coated onto clean glass substrates to fabricate samples. Totally 10 samples with different numbers of layers, from 1 to 5 layers, were obtained. All samples can be separated into two groups: those left dried at room temperature after spin-coating and those heated at 60°C. They were then measured for their transmittance over the visible-to-near-infrared region. All samples exhibited the high transmittance where the values were at 95% and 98%, for the samples at room temperature and those at 60°C, respectively. This was believed to be due to the heating effect that caused the silk fibroin to arrange itself after being heated, hence the higher transmittance. These high transmittances were maintained regardless of the number of layers and length of heating time. Results from this study could be used to fabricate a silk fibroin film with high optical transmittance and adjustable other properties. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Analysis of multi-hop wireless sensor networks using probability propagation models(2019-01-01); ;Tongloy, Teerawat; This paper presents a formula for estimating the probability of collecting a given amount of data from a propagation model and multi-hop wireless sensor networks (WSNs) based on Monte Carlo simulation with cluster-tree topology. The probabilistic model is based on an analytical model of the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC protocol. The probability of successful node transmission is extended to the probabilities of successful collection at the cluster P(X=k) and sink node P(X ≥ k). A numerical example has been provided for comparing the probabilities. We propose a model to calculate the probability from the ratio of the collection rate to the total number of nodes and therefore provide the likeliness of complete data collection. Finally, the results from our analysis provide an estimation of the probability of achieving successful transmission in WSNs. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Effects of baffle reflection and shadow in an integrating sphere on the total luminous flux measurement of a linearly-shaped lamp(2017-12-01); ; Charoensook, AjcharaThe measured total luminous flux of a linearly-shaped lamp by using the integrating sphere substitution method against a standard spherical lamp can be deviated from accurate by the presence of a baffle in the sphere. The baffle introduced two main effects on the sphere response: the baffle reflection, or high-signal region, and the baffle shadow, or low-signal region. Once the baffle condition changed, the two effects changed, causing the measured value to change differently regarding the lamp alignment. In a perpendicular alignment, increasing the baffle length increased the measured flux value. This was due to the dramatic increase in the magnitude of the signal in the baffle reflection behind the baffle. In a coaxial alignment, on the contrary, increasing the baffle length resulted in the decrease of the measured flux value. This was due to the increase in the area of the baffle shadow on the opposite hemisphere from the baffle, which increased at a higher ratio than that of the baffle reflection. In both alignments, the measurement uncertainty increased with the baffle length due to the increasing magnitude of the signal fluctuations. Item type:Publication, Asynchronous deep reinforcement learning for the mobile robot navigation with supervised auxiliary tasks(2017-07-02) ;Tongloy, T.; ; ;Chousangsuntorn, C.In this paper, we present the method based on asynchronous deep reinforcement learning adapted for the mobile robot navigation with supervised auxiliary tasks. We apply the hybrid Asynchronous Advantage Actor-Critic (A3C) algorithm CPU/GPU based on TensorFlow. The mobile robot is simulated as the navigation tasks on the OpenAI-Gym-Gazebo-based environment with the collaboration with ROS Multimaster. The supervised auxiliary tasks include the depth predictions and the robot position estimation. The simulated mobile robot shows the capability to learn to navigate only the input from raw RGB-image and also perform recognition of the place on the map. We also show that the combination of all possible auxiliary tasks leads to the different learning rate.
