Abstract
Computer-Aided pre-operative planning systems assist surgeons in accurate planning of an operation, which yields a clinical outcome thus improving and enhancing the efficiency of the health care delivery. This paper describes the pre-operative planning for total hip replacement by using 2D x-ray images. The authors present a simple six-step process; Initial Importation, Image enhancement, Calibration, Planning, Templating and Report. Therefore, the surgeon can correctly select the template and print out the report of any plan. In addition, the surgeon can transfer the report to the report management system. © 2008 SICE.
