Abstract
A right angle microstrip slot antenna for achive dual resonance frequency is presented. The microstrip antenna consist of L-shaped slot are integrated with inverse L-shaped slot on a ground plane that fed by microstrip line. The proposed concept of adding L-shaped slot and inverse L-shaped slot is a distinct advantage of the design since the bands of operation are independent of each other except the small controllable mutual coupling between the slots. The design procedure involve obtaining at both the 2.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz WLAN band. The measured bandwidth in the 2.4 GHz band is 322 MHz and the 5.2 GHz is 250 MHz that is enough cover frequency requirements for all of the chosen WLAN standard. Experinmental measurements verify the design and simulation results. © 2006 IEEE.
