Abstract
In this paper, we derive the moment generating function (MGF) and average bit error probability (BEP) for M-PSK modulation with maximal ratio combining (MRC) diversity over double Rician fading channels. The results are provided in terms of instantaneous signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) per bit and expressed by using the generalized hypergeometric function . The derived error probabilities generalize three cases of combined fading with single Rayleigh, single Rician, and nonfading channel as special cases. In addition, the results are applicable to existing systems such as satellite mobile communication, mobile-to-mobile communication, and MIMO wireless communication system. ©2008 IEEE.
