Abstract
A novel design of Molecular Transistor using a microring resonator called a PANDA microring resonator is proposed. A molecular transistor can control its output in proportion to the input signal; that is, it can act as an amplifier. Alternatively, it can be used to turn current on or off in a circuit as an electrically controlled switch. By using the optic tweezers, the trapped molecule can be used to form in the same way of photonic transistor, in which the increasing in magnitude of force can increase the trapped molecules. The trapping probe can be adjusted to fit for the molecules size of 10 nm to 15 nm by control ring's parameters. The molecules can be transport at the through port and storage at the drop port. In application, the number of molecules can be controlled to perform the constant and amplification characteristics, which will be suitable for molecular transistor performance. © 2011 IEEE.
