Abstract

As one of the most interested short range wireless communication technology, Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) had been widely development. IEEE 802.15.6 is defining the requirement for wireless body area network such as coexist with other wireless technology and low power spectrum. Ultra wideband (UWB) is the promising technology for wireless body area network. It has wide operated frequency bandwidth from 3 GHz to 10.6 GHz and low power radiation below-41.3 dBm/MHz. The application for WBAN can be mainly divided into medical and non-medical. It can use in-body, on-body and off-body. The effect of human body is investigating in this paper. The experimental model will consider about position and distant between receiver antenna and human body. Vector network analyzer is used to measure transfer function and biconical antennas are used as the transmitter antenna and receiver antenna. The results are describing in power delay profile, which present the effect of human body in transmission for WBAN application.
