Abstract
In this paper, we propose an algorithm for speckle reduction based on the stationary wavelet transform (SWT) For each high-frequency subbands, Wiener filtering is performed within a neighborhood around each data point. Thus, local characteristic of wavelet coefficients is exploited. The despeckled image is obtained by reconstruction from the filtered coefficients. Experimental results on JERS-1/SAR image showed that the proposed method performs better than wavelet thresholding, visually and quantitatively.
