Thermal comfort in Bangkok residential buildings, Thailand

Abstract
A field study of thermal comfort was conducted in Bangkok, Thailand in which 1377 responded to a questionnaire while simultaneous physical measurement-s were taken in both airconditioned and naturally ventilated residential buildings. Sensation voting scales chosen are ASHRAE, McIntyre and air flow scale. A regression model was used to find the relationship between the ASHRAE scale votes and the variables that effect thermal comfort. The computer based statistical package SPSS10 for windows was used to perform the regression analysis. The result of this study shows comfort temperature for Bangkok's people in residential building are 25 deg C for air conditioning buildings and 28 deg C for natural ventilated buildings.
