Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of a cost effective remote sensing system for monitoring ripeness of mango. The dielectric property of peel and pulp at various maturity stages are measured and used for determining dielectric property of pulp of mango from the measured reflection coefficient. The results show the suitable operating frequency is in the range 6-18 GHz. An obvious difference in reflection coefficient for unripe and ripe mangoes exhibited the possibility to design a cost effective system. © 2013 IEEE.
