Abstract

This paper proposes frequency response based parameters identification for series resonance in power systems with capacitor banks for power factor correction. Identified parameters are source resistance, source inductance and capacitance of a capacitor bank. The proposed method requires only magnitudes of three harmonic orders of source voltage and current. The proposed method is simple and easy to understand by finding underdetermined parameters. The identified parameters have included a parasitic parameters occurring in the power system. Identification results confirm good agreement with mathematical model and experiment.
