Abstract
One of the major problem concerning the security in wireless local area networks (WLANs) is the Rogue access point (RAP). In this paper, we are interested in detecting the hidden rogue access point (HRAP). We propose the technique for detecting the HRAP by taking beacon frame and probe request frame into account. Our proposed technique is done by comparing the SSID of AP in beacon frame with that of in probe request frame to consider whether the HRAP exists in network or not. We evaluate the performance of our proposed technique by means of experiment. The result has shown that our proposed technique can detect the HRAP accurately.
