Abstract
In this paper presents a variable step-size algorithm for modified decision feedback equalizer structure with turbo coded for direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) digital communication systems. The main objective of the proposed equalizer is to minimize the bit error rate (BER) of the data due to the disturbances of noise and intersymbol interference (ISI) phenomenon on the channel. By the proposed technique, the performances of the proposed adaptive equalizer cooperate with the attractive Soft Output Viterbi Algorithm (SOVA) algorithm of turbo decoder for the DS/CDMA system. It provides a good statistical in non-stationary channel condition scenario. The simulation results are shown the superior bit error rate performances of the proposed adaptive equalizer over other equalizers. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.
