Abstract
This paper proposes a strategy of formal specification synthesis for formalizing semantics of DFD (Data Flow Diagram). As to motivate one further step for automatic synthesis schemas. The DFD and data dictionary are used to generate formal specification. We aim to provide a set of transformation rules to synthesize a complete version of Z specification for DFD. In our approach, DFD is considered as data maintenance, data translation, and report and query.
