Abstract
The significant parameters that affect surface flexography printing on the adhesive laminated biaxial-oriented polypropylene tapes with chemical and corona surface treatments were analyzed using the MINITAB program. We found that the significant parameters for chemically surface-treated polypropylene tape were the printing drum temperature, the ink viscosity, and the preheat temperature of the unprinted tape. In the other hand, for corona surface treatment, the significant parameters were the corona level, the printing drum temperature, the ink viscosity, and the releasing-agent baking oven temperature. Subsequently, the following parameters were used in the production process of the case study printing company; a printing drum temperature of 45 ±5°C, an ink viscosity of 25±5 sec by Zahn cup #2, and a preheat temperature of unprinted tape of 30°C for the chemically surface-treated tape; a corona level of 12±2, a printing drum temperature of 45±5°C, an ink viscosity of 25±5 sec by Zahn cup #2, and a releasing-agent baking oven temperature of 30 °C for corona surface-treated tape.
