Abstract
A number of methods currently used for expressing the range of the level of scintillation fluctuations. In order to find out the most efficient methods with appropriate results. This paper examines the relationship between statistic standard deviation values and the peak to peak values approach which is well known as the most common approaches for analyzing scintillation phenomena. The signal subjected to analysis for this paper was tuned to TV channel 7 in KU-Band (12.260 GHz) received on parabola antenna with an aperture of 30 cm. via Thaicom Satellite site at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) receiving point. The principal technigues findings the correlation coefficient is base on monthly cumulative data measurement during September to November 1996, excellent correlation coefficient were obtained ranging from 0.900 to 0.999. Analogous results were obtained for the scintillation annual variation characteristic distribution. It is shown here that the analysis of propagation experimental results using standard deviation and peak to peak methods are good coincidence with each others.
