Abstract
The wireless propagation channel in an indoor and outdoor is very complicated and difficut to predict. In this paper, we consider the experiment of transmission loss with indoor to outdoor environment in ultra wideband impulse radio (UWBIR) system based on Friis transmission formula. This formula is not directly applicable and the wavefrom distortion may degrade the transmission performance as well. The transmission waveform and the matched filter reception are proposed in the extension of the Friis transmission formula to UWB-IR system. The matched filter is used to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The matched filter and the transmitted signal template are considered. The technique gives very accurate result and very useful for design UWB-IR transmission signal waveform.
