Abstract
This paper is aimed at studying a high frequency model for a low voltage random-wound induction motor. In the simulation techniques, a time domain model is proposed based on Foster's reactance from the network synthesis theory so that the frequency dependent impedance of the motor can be obtained. The AC resistance of the winding is modelled to achieve the skin effect at high frequencies. Frequency responses of the impedance of the motor winding are shown. It is shown that the computer model gives highly satisfactory results compared with those from measurements.
