Abstract
In this paper, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) education on three phase PWM inverters is presented. The common mode conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) emission of PWM inverters on various PWM patterns such as: SPWM, THIPWM, DPWM60° and DPWM120° techniques is focused. The effect of modulation index (ma) is discussed by varying the ma in the range of linear modulation and over-modulation. The switching frequency of the PWM inverters and load power factor can be set at wide ranges. The PWM inverters can be controlled by the MCS-51 8-bit micro-controller to provide PWM patterns from the lookup table. The comparison between the simulated results from PSPICE program and the measured results can provide the good information for the EMI analysis.
