This paper proposes using the PWM converter method for the wind power generation system. The proposed system has wind speed control. The low wind speed control regulates the armature current of the permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) with the PWM converter method to control the windmill speed. The middle wind speed control regulates the DC link voltage with the vector control system of the inverter side to control the windmill speed. The high wind speed control regulates using the pitch angle control system to control the windmill speed. The proposed system is verified by MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation. Results of simulation studies demonstrate the fundamental performance of the wind power generation system using PWM converters method are verified by discussing the simulation results.
