Abstract

This paper focuses on analysis and mitigation of conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) in a single-phase inverter connected to photovoltaic panel. A photovoltaic inverter composed in the considered system is a main part to generate EMI. Many causes of conducted noise emission will be revealed and discussed in the paper. To overcome EMI problems, there are several methods; some mitigation approaches will be herein mentioned, such as grounding, filtering, and reducing parasitic element. In order to effectively reduce EMI in the studied system, passive EMI filter is focused. Simulation and experimental results for two configurations: without EMI filter and with EMI filter are shown and compared with an EMC standard, which is herein EN 55022 class B to reveal the effectiveness of EMI filter and confirm the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of the system.
