Single LT1228 Based Electronically Controllable Sawtooth Generator

Abstract

The simple sawtooth generator is presented in this article. The circuit uses three actives (LT1228, NOT gate; CD4009, and NMOS) and passive (a capacitor and two resistors) elements. Electronically adjusting the generator's frequency can be independently achieved by the current bias (IC). Besides, the sawtooth waveform's amplitude can be tuned via the electronic method, which R2 > 100k. The simulated results are consistent with the theory analysis.
