dc.description.abstractUrban environments face increasing challenges due to pigeon infestations, leading to property damage, environmental degradation, and health concerns. This research presents the development of a laser-based pigeon deterrent system that leverages image processing, embedded systems, and web applications to provide an automated and efficient bird deterrence solution. The system detects pigeons and humans in real time, ensuring that laser deterrence is applied safely and ethically. Through controlled field tests, the system achieved a pigeon detection accuracy of 78.18% and a successful deterrence rate of 49.09%. The results indicate the potential of laser-based deterrents as a viable alternative to conventional bird control methods.
