This paper presents the compact asymmetrical patch dipole antenna for digital terrestrial television reception in indoor environment. It can be operated in the frequency of 430-980 MHz. The antenna structure is a patch designed on a rectangular printed circuit board (PCB). The patch is cut as asymmetrical planar dipole as the radiating element on the FR4 substrate that is appropriated for indoor application. The proposed antenna is designed based on the 75 Ohm standard, and it is simulated using CST microwave studio. From the simulated and measured results, it is found that the proposed antenna has S<inf>11</inf> less than-10 dB over the frequency of 430-980 MHz and omni-directional radiation pattern with a gain of 2 dBi. It can be efficiently used in digital terrestrial television.
