This talk provides a care-and-feeding of STEAM education, namely 'Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics', offering a new way of utilizing matters of natural learning to be 'live'. A tree robot is created as an instrument to help students achieve the 21st century learning skills. As a result of many hours in experiments with the proposed pedagogy, the robot helps redefine what attention is and how to use it innovatively. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A simple chaotic drawing robot: STEAM 2.0(2016-12-14) ;Klomkarn, KitdakornSooraksa, PitikhateThis paper describes how to construct a simple chaotic robot for drawing based upon active learning in STEAM 2.0. The term STEAM 2.0 refers to extending the conventional design from physical objects to facilitating actions. This approach is taken to teach students to explore the chaotic Chua's circuit thereby observing nonlinear dynamical phenomena. Fabricating a simple low-frequency Chua's circuit and assembling a low-cost mobile vehicle, engineers can now design a chaotic robot capable of accomplishing non-conventional tasks of creating chaotic arts and investigating mathematical patterns. This paper will demonstrate such an accomplishment. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Image encryption based on chaotic map and dynamic S-box(2013-12-01) ;Hung, Pham Anh ;Klomkarn, KitdakornSooraksa, PitikhateDynamic substitution box (S-box) constructed from chaotic map is known as the secure improvement of classic S-box. But the general property '1 to 1' mapping of S-box makes the substitution not flexible. This paper proposes new method for image encryption. We use the key matrix randomization concept to apply on dynamic S-box so that S-box becomes '1 to n' mapping and complexity. First, Chaotic NCA map is applied to generate dynamic S-box which is used for substitution. During substitution phase for each image's value, we apply chaotic Arnold cat map combining chaotic Chen system to shuffle the positions of S-box. After that chaotic Baker map which takes parameter sequence from Gauss map is chosen to perform permutation phase. The experiments show that the secure property of this method gets high efficient from attacks. © 2013 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Extended Baker map using Scan patterns for image encryption(2013-01-01) ;Hung, Pham Anh ;Sooraksa, PitikhateKlomkarn, KitdakornIn this paper, an improvement on free-size image encryption scheme using Baker map combining Scan patterns is proposed. The generalized discrete chaotic Baker map uses sequences of parameters generated by chaotic Gauss map to divide image matrix into boxes. Scrambling method is done by using Scan patterns in each boxes of chaotic Baker map. After scrambling method, chaotic 3-D Chen system is selected to do the pixel transformation. Through the experiments, the security of proposed scheme is tested by introducing keys analysis, entropy analysis, statistical analysis, and processing time so that the scheme achieves high encryption efficiency © 2013 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Design and implementation of continuous microwave biomass carbonization system(2012-08-10) ;Payakkawan, Poomyos ;Areejit, Suwilai ;Jansri, Anurak ;Klomkarn, KitdakornAoyama, HisayukiThis paper discusses a new design and implementation of a microwave heating for continuous biomass GHz frequency. This new technique is developed to control electromagnetic field distribution inside the microwave heating cavity reactor of biomass carbonization. A chaotic mode pattern microwave generator is used for the technique. Item type:Publication, Chaotic application for Industrial Microwave Heating System without mode-stirring mechanism(2012-08-10) ;Areejit, Suwilai ;Payakkawan, Poomyos ;Jansri, Anurak ;Klomkarn, KitdakornAoyama, HisayukiMore than two decades, chaos has been attracted many attention from scientists and engineers. Chaotic system phenomenon seems to be random for observers, but it is deterministic for a designer. System of Chaos attractors have been constructed more than a thousand of chaotic patterns. But implementation of chaos in engineering is still needed for real application. For this sake, the research objective is to search for new chaotic applications for Industrial Microwave Heating System without mode-stirring mechanism. The result shows that the performance of the proposed system is better than the conventional system in the rise of temperature. Eventually, the proposed method can be applied in the real application. © 2012 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Simple self-instructional modules based on chaotic oscillators: Few blocks generating many patterns(2011-01-01) ;Klomkarn, KitdakornSooraksa, PitikhateChaotic circuits have been widely used in the teaching of nonlinear dynamics disciplines, where a common practice is pedagogically based on the circuit point of view. Chua's circuit is the most popular platform for the demonstration of its components with rich dynamical patterns. However, engineering students majoring in control systems are more familiar with feedback systems rather than physical electronics with nonlinear components. This may lead to some difficulty in understanding the nonlinear properties of Chua's circuit, at least on first sight. This paper provides an alternative approach to teaching and learning chaotic oscillators by using the inherent understanding of feedback systems with simple modules at the undergraduate level. Utilizing the idea of chaotification, which means to make a nonchaotic module chaotic, the modules consist of only four blocks yet can generate more than thirty types of chaotic patterns via their various combinations. Conceptually, the blocks can be assembled as various mixed-mode chaotic circuits. Functionally, the blocks are easy-to-use in a Simulink-like fashion. Structurally, they are a LEGO-like educational kit. With low-cost implementation employing a few op-amps for each block, the newly proposed modules are simple, self-instructional and suitable for teaching and training students in school laboratories and in experimental environments. © 2011 World Scientific Publishing Company.
