Understanding and Creating Cultural and Heritage Tourism Photographic Guidelines for Youth Tourists
    (2024-01-01)
Tourism photographs can induce emotions and influence tourists’ perceptions of real locations. However, the research on creating guidelines for tourism photography, especially for heritage tourism targeting youth, remains limited and unclear. Hence, the aim of this research is to identify photographic factors that increase the motivation for young tourists (aged 18–25) to visit heritage tourism sites. In September 2023, one hundred onsite questionnaires were distributed to youths at ten famous heritage locations in Bangkok, Thailand. The results of this research present a guideline incorporating seven elements, indicating that young tourists prefer images that are retro, trendy with historical content, tell a story through interesting characters, utilize natural light, have a clean and minimal style of composition, feature a concise and short title, maintain a realistic style of image processing or retouching, and present unseen or interesting locations. Furthermore, youth prefer searching for information and inspiration on social media, and there is no statistically significant difference between the two types of young tourists (non-heritage and heritage tourists) across almost all media. This guideline could be utilized to design effective advertising photographs in any media to inspire and attract young tourists.

Intentional islanding operation of distributed generation (DG) can increase system reliability and reduce customer outage costs. Guidelines for the impact study and operation of DG for islanding operation should be implemented. The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) plays more attention to intentional islanding operation. To perform islanding operation, PEA has established islanding operation and impact study guidelines for DG. This paper presents the development of these guidelines. A case study was conducted to demonstrate the results of both steady-state and dynamic analyses. Operational issues are also taken into account in this paper. © 2008 IEEE.

PEA guidelines of impact study and operation of DG for islanding operation

Since intentional islanding operation of Distributed Generation (DG) can increase system reliability, and reduce the customer outage cost due to loss of power supply from main grid, some utilities may permit islanding operation of DG. As a result, the impact study and operation criteria of DG for island operation should be performed. Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) is increasingly interested in islanding operation. In order to perform islanding operation, PEA has to establish the islanding operation and impact study guidelines of DG. This paper presents the development of these guidelines. The study case is conducted to demonstrate results of impact study of both steady-state and dynamic analysis. The operation issues also take into account in this paper. ©2007 IEEE.

Analysis of a circumferential aperture beside the radial waveguide near the reflector
This paper presents the analysis and design of a simple conical beam antenna using circumferential aperture beside the radial waveguide near the reflector for vertically polarized radiation. The structure of the antenna is composed of two circular plates that are parallelled to each other in horizontal plane. The vector potential approach is used to calculate the radiation properties. The radiation characteristics such as radiation pattern, elevation beam peak, half power beamwidth and maximum directivity of the antenna are analyzed. The contour plot of elevation beam peak and directivity as a function of the radius of the circular plates and the spacing between the radial waveguide and the reflector are illustrated as the guideline for the design criterion of a conical beam antenna using circumferential aperture beside the radial waveguide near the reflector for vertically polarized.
