Epoxy-based composites are widely used in the aircraft, automobile, and microelectronic industries. The incorporation of various nanofillers into epoxy resins can yield high-performance composites having high strength, lightweight, and multifunctional properties. So, this work focuses on the preparation of various inorganic nanoparticles including the waste glass powder received from the broken windowpane filled in an epoxy resin matrix to create high-performance composites. The physical, chemical, mechanical, and electrical properties were investigated for all samples. The results show that the neat epoxy resin shows the lowest HV value and loses the most weight in the abrasion test. Whereas ZnO/epoxy resin composite shows the highest H<inf>V</inf>, the Al<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf>/epoxy resin composite loses less weight in the abrasion test. For electrical results, the resistivity of epoxy resin composites filled with 2 wt% of Al<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> shows the highest value which is about 45% increase from the pure epoxy resin. Finally, it can be concluded that all inorganic fillers which are SiO<inf>2</inf>, Al<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf>, TiO<inf>2</inf>, and ZnO including waste glass powder can really improve the hardness, abrasion resistance, and electrical resistivity of the epoxy resin.

This paper represents electrical and chemical characteristics of mineral oil samples obtained from the test cell containing the pressboards with different moisture contents immersed in the mineral oil. The pressboards with the dimension of 100×l00 mm and the thickness of 12.8 mm were used in the experiment. The pressboards were divided into two groups. The first group contained the moisture content of 3 % while the second group contained the moisture content of 7%. Then, four pressboards of each group were inserted between plane to plane electrodes contained in the test cell by which one electrode was energized by 12 kV AC; another electrode was grounded. Three identical mineral oil samples were taken from the test cells after the pressboards and mineral oil had experienced by electric field stress for 5, 10, and 15 days respectively to investigate on the changing of electrical and chemical properties of the mineral oil. The tests were performed with each oil sample on the topics of breakdown voltage, power factor, moisture content, acid number, interfacial tension and dissolved gas analysis. From the experiments, the electrical and chemical characteristics of the mineral oil with the pressboards containing different moisture contents were clearly different.

This work reports the synthesis of Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) nanoparticles via sonochemical process at various calcination temperature using InCl<inf>3</inf> and SnCl<inf>4</inf>·5H<inf>2</inf>O as starting precursors for In and Sn sources, respectively. The crystal structure properties of the samples were investigated by X-ray diffraction. Meanwhile, the size, shape and microstructure of the particles were observed by field emission scanning electron microscope and chemical composition was investigated by energy dispersive X-ray Spectrophotometer. The corresponding optical band gap was determined by diffuse reflectance spectra. The XRD results showed that the as-prepared powders were initially formed in amorphous phase and the crystalline structure of powders were obtained after calcination beyond specific temperature. The correlated reactions and mechanisms during sonochemical process responsible for ITO formation are suggested. The comparison between ITO powders prepared by sonochemical process and co-precipitation process is additionally carried out and the results show significant differences in their morphology and crystallite sizes of the particles.
