Item type:Publication, Effect of Sn content on the dielectric and piezoelectric properties of the ternary system (0.975-y)BaTiO3–0.025SrTiO3–yBaSnO3(2017-06-01) ;Mayamae, Jitkasem; ; ;Woramongkolchai, SomsakDesign of the polymorphic phase composition in the (0.975-y)BaTiO<inf>3</inf>–0.025SrTiO<inf>3</inf>–yBaSnO<inf>3</inf>; BT-ST-yBSn ternary system was based on the ferroelectric phase diagram. The dense ceramic of BT-ST-yBSn, with y = 0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08 and 0.10 compositions, was fabricated successfully via the solid-state reaction method. The effect of Sn substitution on the ferroelectric phase transition and piezoelectric properties was explored in order to achieve high-performance piezoelectric properties. All of the ceramics exhibited pure perovskite structures. Orthorhombic to tetragonal phase transition was evidenced clearly as a function of Sn content. The orthorhombic to tetragonal phase transition shifted close to ambient temperature by increasing the Sn content. The coexistent tetragonal and orthorhombic phases were exhibited at the composition, y = 0.04, and showed outstanding dielectric and piezoelectric properties, maximum relative permittivity (ε<inf>r max</inf>) of 11500 and piezoelectric coefficient (d<inf>33</inf>) of 450 pC/N. An outstanding reversible strain of about 0.12%, with a normalized piezoelectric coefficient (S<inf>max</inf>/E<inf>max</inf>) of 1280 pm/V at a low electric field (10 kV/cm), was observed clearly at the composition of the coexistent phase. The BT-ST-BSn ceramics are the most promising candidate for lead-free piezoelectric materials. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Effect of various nanofillers on the insulating properties of polyethylene composites(2022-01-01) ;Muenphan, NatchaThis work focuses on the preparation of various inorganic nanoparticles i.e. Al<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf>, SiO<inf>2</inf>, TiO<inf>2</inf> including the waste glass powder filled in high-density polyethylene (HDPE H455JA) matrix to create high-performance composites. The glass powder prepared from broken windowpane was used in this study in order to use as a guideline to find substitutes for commercial materials and also add value to waste and reduce costs. The 2 wt% of each filler was weighed and mixed with HDPE to create a composite by using a simple mold casting technique. The physical, chemical and electrical properties were investigated for all samples. The results show that the ε<inf>r</inf> value of the pure HDPE and the HDPE-based composites are approximately the same in all frequencies and the ε<inf>r</inf> of pure HDPE tends to decrease about 7.8% at elevated temperature, whereas the ε<inf>r</inf> value of composites is less decreased at higher operating temperatures for all samples which can imply that the composites are more capable of operating at higher temperatures than pure HDPE itself. For the electrical resistivity, the ρ value gradually increases at elevated temperature for all samples and the composites show a higher ρ value than that of pure HDPE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The role of γ-C2H5NO2 as a new transient liquid phase in cold sintering process of BaTiO3 composites(2024-07-01) ;Noisak, Jitrawan ;Ieamviteevanich, Pimchanok ;Charoonsuk, Thitirat ;Pakawanit, PhakkhanananPinpru, NattapongDielectric materials, such as barium titanate (BT)-based materials, have excellent dielectric properties but require high temperatures (above 1300 °C) for ceramic fabrication, leading to high costs and energy loss. The cold sintering process (CSP) offers a solution to these issues and is gaining worldwide attention as an innovative fabrication route. In this work, we proposed an alternative organic ferroelectric phase, gamma-glycine (γ-GC), which acts as a transient liquid phase to fabricate high-density composites with barium titanate (BT) at low temperatures through CSP. Our findings show that the density of 15γ-GC/85BT reached 96.7%±1.6% when it was sintered at 120 °C for 6 h under 10 MPa uniaxial pressure. Scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) mappings of the composite suggested that γ-GC completely underwent the precipitation–dissolution process and, therefore, filled between BT particles. Moreover, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) confirmed the preservation of γ-GC without undesired phase transformation. In addition, the ferroelectric and dielectric properties of γ-GC/BT composites have been reported. The high dielectric constant (ε<inf>r</inf>) was 3600, and the low dielectric loss (tanδ) was 1.20 at 200 °C and 100 kHz for the 15γ-GC/85BT composite. The hysteresis loop showed a remanent polarization (P<inf>r</inf>) of 0.55 µC·cm-2 and a coercive field (E<inf>c</inf>) of 7.25 kV·cm-1. Our findings reaffirmed that an organic ferroelectric material (γ-GC) can act as a transient liquid phase in a CSP that can successfully and sustainably fabricate γ-GC/BT composites at low temperatures while delivering outstandingly high performance. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Processing and characterizations of Bi2O3/BaTiO3 ceramic(2013-10-29); ;Banjong, DondanaiThe objective of this work is to provide the process for making BaTiO<inf>3</inf>-based ceramics by adding bismuth oxide (Bi<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf>) into the system. The attention is also focused on synthesis conditions, where sintering temperature exhibits a pronounced effect on phase formation, density, microstructure and dielectric properties of BaTiO3 ceramics doped with different contents of Bi<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> nanoparticles. The phases of BaTiO<inf>3</inf>-based ceramics have been prepared by solid state reaction using different Bi<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> amount and characterized by X-ray diffractometry, Archimedes's method, scanning electron microscopy and dielectric spectroscopy. The results show that single phase of BaTiO<inf>3</inf> with no evidence of secondary phase forms in all samples. Abnormal grain growth was found in pure BaTiO<inf>3</inf> ceramic with 37.30 μm of average grain size. After added Bi<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> nanoparticles into system, the grain size significantly decreases and the sintering temperature of BaTiO3-based ceramics efficiently reduces without degrading the dielectric characteristics. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, DIELECTRIC AND FATIGUE LIFE ENHANCEMENT IN BaTiO3/Epoxy RESIN BASED COMPOSITES USED AS PIEZOELECTRIC NANOGENERATOR(2025-01-01); ;Rerngroen, Nakulkarn ;Sasipongpan, Apinya; This study investigates the enhancement of dielectric properties and fatigue life in BaTiO3/epoxy resin composites utilized as the active material in piezoelectric nanogenerators. Through a systematic approach, various fabrication techniques and composite formulations are explored to optimize the dielectric constants, energy density, and piezoelectricity while mitigating fatigue-related degradation. The physical character, phase formation, and chemical properties of these composites are identified via the optical camera, XRD, and FTIR methods, respectively. The frequency dependence of dielectric properties for all samples is measured by an LCR meter. The hysteresis P-E loops are investigated in order to calculate the energy density and energy loss density of materials. The piezoelectric properties of these composites are performed by studying the generated output voltage and current after applying mechanical force to the samples. Moreover, MWCNT nanomaterials have also been incorporated into these composites in order to improve their dielectric value and fatigue life. The results show that the dielectric constant (εr) and dielectric loss (tanδ) of these composites are independent of frequency. After loading BaTiO3 into the epoxy resin matrix, the εr and tanδ significantly increased with the increasing BaTiO3 amount. The energy density and energy loss density of all composites were calculated from these P-E loops, and it is seen that pure epoxy resin shows the lowest energy density and energy loss density values. After loading BaTiO3 into the epoxy resin matrix, both the energy density and the energy loss density of the composites significantly increased. Moreover, after adding 20 percent by volume of BaTiO3 to the system, the energy density increases by 160% compared with pure epoxy resin. For the effect of MWCNT filler, it is seen that the εr, tanδ, energy density and energy loss density are significantly improved after adding 1.5 vol% of MWCNT into the system. The output current generated by applying mechanical force to the sample increased 27 times after adding MWCNT to the BT-filled epoxy resin composite. Finally, it can be concluded that all experimental results demonstrate significant enhancements in dielectric properties, energy density and electric output current, paving the way for the development of robust and efficient piezoelectric nanogenerators for diverse energy harvesting applications. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Fabrication and properties of BaTiO3-CoFe2O 4 nanocomposites(2013-12-01); ;Pulphol, Nattakarn; In this work, BaTiO<inf>3</inf>-xCoFe<inf>2</inf>O<inf>4</inf>, where x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5, nanocomposites were prepared by conventional mixing method and followed by normal sintering in air. The effect of processing condition on phase formation, microstructure, magnetic and electrical properties of the BaTiO<inf>3</inf>-CoFe<inf>2</inf>O<inf>4</inf> nanocomposites was investigated. The phase development and microstructural evolution of this system have been determined via X-ray diffractometer and scanning electron microscope. From the results, it concludes that phase formation, microstructure, electrical and magnetic properties of the BaTiO<inf>3</inf>-xCoFe<inf>2</inf>O<inf>4</inf> nanocomposites strongly depend on chemical composition. © 2013 Copyright Taylor and Francis Group, LLC. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Preparation and dielectric properties of 3-3 lead zirconate/polyvinylidene fluoride nanocomposite(2013-01-01) ;Nawanil, Chanisa; ; Composites made of electroactive ceramics and a ferroelectric polymer are very attractive for applications since they exhibit good piezoelectric and pyroelectric properties, low densities and their properties can be tailored to various requirements. Here, we reported the preparation and dielectric properties of 3-3 PZ/PVDF nanocomposites by infusion of polyvinylidenedifluoride (PVDF) into the PZ nanofiber mat followed by heating of the composite at 80°C. The 3-3 PZ/PVDF composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction, FT-IR, SEM and LCR meter. The dielectric constant of the PZ/PVDF nanocomposite are relatively stable in the range of 21.98-18.21 within the measurement frequencies from 100 Hz to 2 MHz. This value is higher than the dielectric constant of the polyvinylidene fluoride. Moreover, the dielectric loss of the composite is below 0.09 at low frequencies. © 2013 Copyright Taylor and Francis Group, LLC. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, FABRICATION OF BA5NB4O15 CERAMICS BY FLUX-ASSISTED ULTRA-LOW SINTERING TEMPERATURE TECHNIQUE(2025-01-01) ;Pulphol, Phieraya ;Teandam, Apichayaporn ;Charoonsuk, Thitirat; Ba<inf>5</inf>Nb<inf>4</inf>O<inf>15</inf> ceramic is a promising dielectric material for microwave frequencies. One of the factors that affects its dielectric properties is density, which can be controlled by fabrication processes such as sintering. Normally, conventional sintering requires high sintering temperature (T?> 1,200ºC) to produce grain coarsening and pore reduction which consumes high energy. However, there has been growing interest in low-temperature ceramic processing due to its potential to revolutionize the way ceramic materials are manufactured. Cold sintering is a new sintering technique that can be used to fabricate dense ceramics below 300°C. It can be applied to a variety of compounds, and the densification process is driven by the dissolution-precipitation mechanism, with the aid of a congruent solvent, pressure, and temperature. Herein, Ba<inf>5</inf>Nb<inf>4</inf>O<inf>15</inf> ceramics are prepared by cold sintering technique using hydrated barium hydroxide (Ba(OH)<inf>2</inf>-8H<inf>2</inf>O) as a flux to reduce sintering temperature and introduce densification process. The effects of processing parameters, including sintering temperature, dwelling time, pressure, and flux concentration, on the density and dielectric properties of sintered samples were investigated. Phase formation and electrical properties were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and an LCR meter. Under the sintering conditions T = 150°C, pressure = 7,000 kPa, and t = 60 min, the obtained Ba<inf>5</inf>Nb<inf>4</inf>O<inf>15</inf> ceramic exhibited a relative density of ˜80% which closes to the ceramics obtained from conventional sintering. These results suggest that sintering temperature has little influence on sample density, while applied pressure is the dominant factor in improving density. The mechanism of flux-assisted cold sintering and dielectric properties are also discussed. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Simple Method for Enhancing Performance of the Bacterial Cellulose-Based Triboelectric Nanogenerator by Adding Conductive Interlayer(2023-01-01) ;Sriphan, Saichon ;Pharino, Utchawadee ;Pakawanit, Phakkhananan ;Bongkarn, TheerachaiSurface charge density is a key factor that greatly enhances the performance of a natural-based triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG), which is essential for future sustainable sensing and harvesting devices. This work introduced a conductive interlayer between a main frictional layer and electrode. This approach can suppress the charge recombination rate and improve the amount of charges produced during the triboelectrification process. Bacterial cellulose (BC) film was selected as a main frictional layer for the TENG. A conductive nanomaterial, i.e. silver flake, was incorporated into the BC film as an intermediate layer for enhancing TENG performance. As firstly reported, the maximum electrical outputs for the multi-layer BC structure could be found when using silver flake/BC composite (ratio 1:5) as an intermediate layer, which has 122 V and 8.2 µA of output voltage and current, respectively. This is higher than the output voltage and current of a single layer BC TENG by approximately 3 and 8 times, respectively. The maximum output power of ∼440 µW is achieved by connecting with a load resistor of ∼10 MΩ. This demonstrates an efficient strategy for designing a high performance energy harvester by adding an intermediate layer for the target of practical purposes in sustainable systems. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Preparation and properties of lead free bismuth sodium titanate-bismuth zinc titanate ceramics(2009-12-01); ;Niemcharoen, Surasak; ;Tungsitvisetkul, NattapongChinwaro, PimjanLead-free piezoelectric ceramics based on (1-x)Bi1/2Na1/2TiO3 - x Bi(Zn1/2 Ti1/2)O3 (x = 0.0, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0.40, and 0.5) were obtained via solid-state processing techniques. The influence of BZT addition on BNT characteristics, sintering, microstructure and properties was investigated. A single perovskite phase with rhombohedral symmetry was obtained for Bi(Zn1/2Ti1/2)O3 substitutions of up to 10 mole%. A small amount of BZT was effective for improving both sintering behavior and dielectric properties of BNT ceramics. Optimized dielectric properties were obtained for samples with a maximum density of ρ = 98.3% for the composition, x = 0.1. Copyright © Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
