Item type:Publication, A performance evaluation for Internet of Things based on Blockchain technology(2019-07-01) ;Vatcharatiansakul, NuttakitIn this paper, the performance evaluation for Internet of Things based on blockchain Technology is proposed. In a blockchain network, all IoT devices communicate and synchronize with each other and allow device to transact with each other directly without the need of trusted intermediary. IoT devices have a smart contract associate with them which are deployed on the blockchain network. User or device who wish to use a service can transact to smart contract that associated with IoT device. Moreover, all transactions of IoT device, device-to device or human-to-device, will not only permanently store on Blockchain network but also gain the security and privacy of them. In this implementation, a private Ethereum network is chosen to use as a blockchain platform and the raspberry pi act as a lightweight node to transact with a smart contract in a full node which install on PC desktop. In addition, the performance evaluation of two realistic traffic flow, store and access transactions, such as latency, execution time and throughput are highlight. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Performance test of low-complexity visible light communication system(2017-07-02) ;Luckyarno, Yakub Fahim ;Namonta, PornchanokA visible light communication (VLC) is an optical wireless communication technology that developed rapidly in recent years. The most common application of it is for indoor communication. Many researchers already conducted researches in various fields of this technology, but only a few researchers conducted the research based on the standard. Some of them conducted simulation-based but not hardware-based research. This research proposes a low-complexity system based on the IEEE 802.15.7 standard PHY I. It consists of a pair of transceivers. The transceiver consists of the LED with the lens as the transmitter and the high-speed photodiode as the receiver. This research focuses on how the PHY I-based system performs by testing the system using some parameters, which are throughput, distance, bit error rate (BER), and types of files. The expected result is that the system can send various-size data of any file with a data rate of 100 kbps, low BER, and in a far distance. This paper will explain further information in detail.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Comprehensive characterization of a novel UWB elliptical planar monopole antenna(2012-12-01) ;Marindra, Adi Mahmud Jaya; Takada, Jun IchiThe rise of research in ultra wideband (UWB) antenna design must be followed by a proper method of antenna characterization. The emerging concept of UWB impulse radio (UWB-IR) compels the performance evaluation of UWB antenna should be assessed in different ways from narrowband antennas. In this paper, a comprehensive characterization of UWB antenna will be discussed. Based on the theory of antenna transfer function in frequency domain, some UWB transmission parameters in time domain are derived, i.e. waveform correlation, waveform width stretch ratio, and waveform relative gain. For practical testing, we propose a novel UWB elliptical planar monopole antenna as the characterized antenna. The results show that the overall performance and characteristic of the proposed antenna is very good, especially at the antenna boresight. The derived parameters can quantitatively characterize the UWB antenna for all the measured directions so that the detail of transmission performance of the UWB antenna could be known. Hopefully, the characterization scheme with the proposed antenna presented in this paper provide useful insight either for UWB antenna design or for evaluating UWB antenna performance. © 2012 IEEE.
