Item type:Item, Hybrid Plasmonic–Photonic Panda-Ring Antenna Embedded with a Gold Grating for Dual-Mode Transmission(2026-02-01) ;Phunklang, Sirigiet ;Jantaupalee, Atawit ;Mesawad, Patawee ;Yupapin, PreechaKrachodnok, PiyapornThis paper presents a systematic numerical investigation of a hybrid plasmonic–photonic Panda-ring antenna with an embedded gold grating, designed to enable efficient dual-mode radiation for optical and terahertz communication systems. The proposed structure integrates high-Q whispering-gallery mode (WGM) confinement in a multi-ring dielectric resonator with plasmonic out-coupling at the metal–dielectric interface, allowing controlled conversion of resonantly stored photonic energy into free-space radiation. The electromagnetic behavior is analyzed through a hierarchical structural evolution, progressing from a linear silicon waveguide to single-ring, add–drop, and Panda-ring resonator configurations. Gold is modeled using a dispersive Drude formulation with complex permittivity to accurately capture frequency-dependent plasmonic response at 1.55 µm. Power redistribution within the resonator system is described using coupled-mode theory, with coupling and loss parameters evaluated consistently from full-wave numerical simulations. Full-wave simulations using OptiFDTD and CST Studio Suite demonstrate that purely photonic resonators exhibit strong WGM confinement but negligible radiation, while plasmonic gratings alone suffer from low efficiency due to the absence of coherent photonic excitation. In contrast, the proposed hybrid Panda-ring antenna achieves stable and directive far-field radiation under WGM excitation, with a realized gain of approximately 8.05 dBi at 193.5 THz. The performance enhancement originates from synergistic hybrid SPP–WGM coupling, establishing a WGM-driven radiation mechanism suitable for Li-Fi and terahertz wireless applications. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Item, Microring Switching Control Using Plasmonic Ring Resonator Circuits for Super-Channel Use(2019-12-01) ;Tunsiri, Surachai ;Thammawongsa, Nopparat ;Threepak, Thanunchai ;Mitatha, SomsakYupapin, PreechaThe multi-wavelength selection and switching system using the hybrid plasmonic add-drop ring resonator (HPARR) for optical communication is proposed for multi-carrier super-channel-based designed. The plasmonic polariton technique applied in the ring resonator mode to the alternate waveguide interferometer switches the multi-wavelength laser emission in the various ranges. The combination of curvature-coupled plasmon ring and substances with different refractive index allows switching the multi-wavelength emission to shorter the free spectrum range (FSR) and specific wavelengths, without an applied pump signal or adjusted the ring size. It is suitable for the super-channel of wavelength division multiplex (WDM) in the future optical network. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Detection of Salmonella bacterium in drinking water using microring resonator(2016-01-01) ;Bahadoran, Mahdi ;Noorden, Ahmad Fakhrurrazi Ahmad ;Mohajer, Faeze Sadat ;Abd Mubin, Mohamad HelmiChaudhary, KashifA new microring resonator system is proposed for the detection of the Salmonella bacterium in drinking water, which is made up of SiO<inf>2</inf>-TiO<inf>2</inf> waveguide embedded inside thin film layer of the flagellin. The change in refractive index due to the binding of the Salmonella bacterium with flagellin layer causes a shift in the output signal wavelength and the variation in through and drop port's intensities, which leads to the detection of Salmonella bacterium in drinking water. The sensitivity of proposed sensor for detecting of Salmonella bacterium in water solution is 149 nm/RIU and the limit of detection is 7 × 10-4RIU. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Rabi oscillation generation in the microring resonator system with double-series ring resonators(2015-09-10) ;Noorden, Ahmad Fakhrurrazi Ahmad ;Chaudhary, Kashif ;Bahadoran, Mahdi ;Aziz, Muhammad SafwanJalil, Muhammad ArifIn this paper, a microring resonator (MRR) system using double-series ring resonators is proposed to generate and investigate the Rabi oscillations. The system is made up of silicon-on-insulator and attached to bus waveguide which is used as propagation and oscillation medium. The scattering matrix method is employed to determine the output signal intensity which acts as the input source between two-level Rabi oscillation states, where the increase of Rabi oscillation frequency with time is obtained at the resonant state. The population probability of the excited state is higher and unstable at the optical resonant state due to the nonlinear spontaneous emission process. The enhanced spontaneous emission can be managed by the atom (photon) excitation, which can be useful for atomic related sensors and single-photon source applications. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, All-optical hysteresis switching using mobius configuration microring resonator circuit(2015-01-01) ;Noorden, Ahmad Fakhrurrazi Ahmad ;Mohamad, Azam ;Bahadoran, Mahdi ;Chaudhary, KashifAziz, M. S.The novel twisted ring resonator called add-drop Mobius microring resonator is introduced and modelled with the analytical solution of transfer matrix methods for the generation of optical bistability. Simulated results show that, the add-drop Mobius configuration provides greater phase shift due to the longer length of propagation per roundtrip than add-drop filter configuration. In add-drop Mobius system, drop port generated the optical bistable hysteresis loop with 19.25 mW output switching power and through port generated lower switching power as 5.55 mW. The drop port of the system is found as the suitable port for the operating the all-optical hysteresis switching. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Effect temperature in chemical sensing using triple stage microring resonator(2015-01-01) ;Mohamad, Azam ;Bahadoran, Mahdi ;Aziz, Safwan ;Chaudary, KashifJalil, Muhammad ArifThe split-step Fourier technique is used to study the effect of temperature in triple stage microring resonating sensor (TSMRRS). The optical bright soliton beam is used as the probe pulse into the TSMRRS and the effect of temperature variations on various concentrations of glucose in deionize water is investigated. The detection of glucose is measured by intensity variations of output signals from through and drop ports of TSMRRS. The temperature variations cause an exact intensity reduction of glucose concentration in deionize water when the temperature increased by 1 °C. The performance of TSMRRS glucose sensor is improved for temperature range similar with standard room temperature which shows that TSMRRS is suitable candidate for chemical sensing application. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Optical bistability in all-pass mobius configuration microring resonator(2015-01-01) ;Noorden, Ahmad Fakhrurrazi Ahmad ;Bahadoran, Mahdi ;Chaudhary, Kashif ;Aziz, Muhammad SafwanJalil, Muhammad ArifA novel design of microring resonator called all-pass Mobius ring resonator is used to study optical bistability effect and spectral transmission for all-optical switching application with clockwise hysteresis loop operation. The bright soliton pulse is applied as the input source of the system. The propagation of the pulses within the system is simulated using the transfer matrix analysis. The all-pass Mobius ring resonator is able to operate under high nonlinearity as it has longer propagation length per roundtrip. The all-pass Mobius provides low transmission peak power of 3.65 mW as compared to the conventional all-pass configuration. The output-to-input relation of both design shows that the Mobius configuration is able to generate a higher hysteresis loop width of the bistable signal from 15.79 mW to 18.10 mW input power. The switching power of the optical bistability in Mobius configuration is 3.67 mW for threshold power of 16.95mW. This work shows the Mobius configuration is more suitable to be used for all-optical switching application as compared to the conventional all-pass ring resonator configuration. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The system consisted series of sub-micron size ring resonators fabricated by using nonlinear InGaAsP/InP material that laterally coupled together. This particular configuration is known as double PANDA ring resonator. For convenience of analysis, optical transfer function for this model is obtained by using Z-transform method. Equations governing pulse propagation within the system including output and circulated fields are discussed in details. Simulation results were based on analytical derivation. It suggested that intensity buildup is induced by the additional nanorings located ad both left and right sides of the system. This study mainly contribute towards the establishment of mathematical model of such system that able to predict accurately the practical operation processes of double PANDA ring resonator configuration. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Nano force sensing using symmetric double stage micro resonator(2014-12-01) ;Bahadoran, Mahdi ;Noorden, Ahmad Fakhrurrazi Ahmad ;Chaudhary, Kashif ;Safwan Aziz, MuhammadAli, JalilA new approach is proposed to improve a graphical approach with considering intensity coupling loss coefficients in the analytical derivation of the optical transfer functions for a symmetric double stage vertically coupled microring resonator. An optimum transmission coupling condition is determined with considering terms of couplers intensity loss which leads to low insertion loss of 1.2 dB, finesse of 1525, the out of band rejection ratio of 61.8 dB. The resonating system is used as an optical force sensing system to make the benefit of the accuracy of measurements in micro and nano scales. The sensitivity of proposed force sensor in terms of wavelength-shift is 33 nm/nN and the limit of detection is 1.6 × 10-2 nN. The proposed sensing system has the advantages of self-calibration and the low power consumption due to the low intensity.
