Item type:Item, Application of Simulation Technology in Football Training: A Systematic Review of Empirical Studies(2024-01-01) ;Jia, Teng ;Sitthiworachart, JiraratMorris, JohnBackground: This review aimed to cover the characteristics and functions of simulation tools applied to football training, the process and results of empirical research, the benefits of simulation tools for football training, and existing challenges. Materials and Methods: To investigate and analyze the effect of simulation technology in football training, the PRISMA method was used to systematically review 18 relevant empirical studies published between January, 2014 and July, 2023. Results: The study identified three types of tools for applying simulation technology to football training, including head-mounted displays, Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE), and Screen-Based Simulation. These tools have been effective in training football playing techniques (including goalkeeping, heading, etc.) as well as football tactical skills (including perception-cognitive and decision-making) and can be used as a supplement to regular training. Conclusion: If simulation technology is to enhance football training, we suggest that it is necessary to carefully verify the validity of the tool and the long-term impact of simulation training on participants and verify that simulation actually translates to real-world games. At the same time, it is suggested that future research could explore training with mixed VR and AR to develop more realistic and effective training platforms. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Application of Matrix Converter to Wind Power Generation System(2024-01-01) ;Juntham, C.Tammaruckwattana, S.This paper presents the application of a threephase matrix converter for wind power generation based on a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). The topology applied in the research is the 3 × 3 - matrix topology consisting of nine bi-directional switches. This paper focuses on the simulation of the proposed system using the MATLAB/ Simulink program to design the control algorithm for the PMSG. Item type:Item, Flow and heat transfer profiles in a heat exchanger tube equipped with X-V baffles (XVB): A numerical analysis(2023-09-01) ;Boonloi, AmnartJedsadaratanachai, WithadaSimulations of laminar air flow and thermal configurations through a heat exchanger tube (HXT) equipped with X-V baffles (XVB) are performed. The Reynolds number is between 100 – 2000. The current numerical problem is solved by a numerical method (the finite volume analysis). Effects of the XVB sizes, the XVB distances and the flow directions on the flow and thermal profiles are discussed. The XVB size (b/D) is set between 0.05 – 0.20 and the XVB distance (P/D) is set to 1, 1.5 and 2. X-axis is the flow axis. The positive and negative x-axis are investigated. Two baffle configurations (Type I and II) are compared. The streamlines, vortex flows, temperature profiles and Nusselt number profiles in the HXT installed with these two XVB configurations (Type I and II) are described. The variations for the friction factor ratio (f/f<inf>0</inf>), Nusselt number ratio (Nu/Nu<inf>0</inf>) and thermal enhancement factor (TEF) within the HXT equipped with the XVB are presented. The essential commands in kinematics have been developed to simulate a robotic arm, and the paper demonstrates the modeling of a specified robot arm, PUMA560, by comparing the results with those obtained using MATLAB software. Item type:Item, A Study of the Queuing System of the Local Government Registration Office in Ladkrabang District Conducted Using a Computer Simulation Model(2022-07-01)Chaiwuttisak, PornpimolThe objective of this research was to determine, by computer simulation, the queuing times for a queuing system used by the local government registration office in Ladkrabang District, Thailand, and propose a way to improve the queuing system to reduce the average waiting time for people coming to receive a variety of services. The services included the following: issuing a Thai citizen ID Card, civil registration, and general citizen registration. The simulation models were created using Arena software. The queuing system simulation (with open hours 8:00 to 16:00 each day) was based on real data collected between December 16 and December 28, 2019. The performance indicators included the average waiting time and the average utilization of the staff members. It was found that the average waiting time was 50 minutes. In addition, the average waiting time for people receiving civil registration service was greater than for the other services. The average staff utilizations during productive hours were not balanced at the different service points. Thus, four ways were formulated to improve the queue system and through the simulations seeking to find the best queue system. The best system was found to include combining the citizen ID card approval service point with the ID card delivery service point, moving two staff members previously stationed at the citizen ID card approval point and two staff members stationed at the general registration service point to the civil registration service point, and finally providing more staff members to the civil registration service point. As a result, the average waiting time would be reduced by 45.91% and the average staff utilization at the civil registration services would be reduced by 13.63 %. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Harmonic Response Analysis of Tank Design Effect on Ultrasonic Cleaning Process(2022-03-01) ;Phophayu, Suchada ;Kliangklom, KetmaneeThongsri, JatupornSeveral ultrasonic cleaning tanks (UCTs) had a problem: a manufacturer complained that there were damages to cleaning objects, they were unclarified, and it needed to be abruptly solved. To investigate and solve the problem, a small UCT filled with 3.92 L of water, with a frequency of 28 kHz, two horn transducers, and a total power of 100 W was built for simulation and experiment. A built tank body material of UCT can be adjustable to acrylic, glass, and stainless steel. Since the cavitation causing the cleaning relates to acoustic pressure, harmonic response analysis (HRA) in ANSYS software was employed to calculate the acoustic pressure inside the UCT for different designs such as mentioned materials, power, thickness, volume, and frequency. The HRA results revealed uneven acoustic pressure depending on the tank designs, consistent with foil corrosion and power concentration experiments. Furthermore, using the tank body material with acrylic, glass, and stainless steel provided the highest, moderate, and lowest acoustic pressure levels, respectively. The uneven acoustic pressure resulted from the differences in material transmission coefficients. In addition, the damage occurred because of improper tank design, resulting in excessive acoustic pressure. Therefore, the tank design is indispensable in designing high-efficiency UCTs to reduce damage and meet customer requirements. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Item, A dual frequency ultrasonic cleaning tank developed by transient dynamic analysis(2021-01-02) ;Tangsopa, WorapolThongsri, JatupornAt present, development of manufacturer’s ultrasonic cleaning tank (UCT) to match the requirements from consumers usually relies on computer simulation based on harmonic response analysis (HRA). However, this technique can only be used with single-frequency UCT. For dual frequency, the manufacturer used information from empirical experiment alongside trial-and-error methods to develop prototypes, resulting in the UCT that may not be fully efficient. Thus, lack of such a proper calculational method to develop the dual frequency UCT was a problem that greatly impacted the manufacturers and consumers. To resolve this problem, we proposed a new model of simulation using transient dynamics analysis (TDA) which was successfully applied to develop the prototype of dual frequency UCT, 400 W, 18 L in capacity, eight horn transducers, 28 and 40 kHz frequencies for manufacturing. The TDA can indicate the acoustic pressure at all positions inside the UCT in transient states from the start to the states ready for proper cleaning. The calculation also reveals the correlation between the positions of acoustic pressure and the placement positions of transducers and frequencies. In comparison with the HRA at 28 kHz UCT, this TDA yielded the results more accurately than the HRA simulation, comparing to the experiments. Furthermore, the TDA can also be applied to the multifrequency UCTs as well. In this article, the step-by-step development of methodology was reported. Finally, this simulation can lead to the successful design of the high-performance dual frequencies UCT for the manufacturers. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, A novel ultrasonic cleaning tank developed by harmonic response analysis and computational fluid dynamics(2020-03-01) ;Tangsopa, WorapolThongsri, JatupornThe manufacturer of an ultrasonic cleaning tank (UCT) received advise from a customer to seek the cause to why the UCT could not clean their products effectively and develop a novel UCT to replace the conventional model. This UCT had a capacity of 10 L, a frequency of 28 kHz, four horn transducers, and a total power of 200 W. To resolve that problem and respond to customers’ needs, we presented new methods to develop the UCT using the harmonic response analysis (HRA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to simulate the cleaning process which occurred within the UCT based on the actual conditions. Results from the HRA showed that the acoustic pressure in a problematic UCT was low, resulting in a smaller cleaning area, which was consistent with the results from the foil corrosion test, and thus caused the cleaning process to be ineffective. We developed a novel UCT with improved effectiveness by adjusting the design and adding a water circulation system. From the HRA, we were able to design the dimensions of the UTC and position of the transducer to be suitable to increase the acoustic pressure and cleaning area. CFD results enabled us to design proper inlet and outlet shapes, as well as simulate the water flow behavior to find the optimal cleaning condition so the novel UCT had a water circulation system that could eliminate the excess particles. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Encapsulation of Pediococcus pentosaceus RSU-Nh1 into pectin-sodium alginate and chitosan coating(2020-01-01) ;Yodsenee, K. ;Showpanish, K. ;Sonhom, N. ;Pilasombut, K.Prachom, N.Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are beneficial to the human intestines, they inhibit the growth of pathogenic microorganisms and are used for lactic acid fermentation. LAB are partially digested when they pass through the digestive system, resulting in reduced survival rate. Encapsulation can be used to enhance the survival of probiotic bacteria as protection against harsh conditions in the gastrointestinal tract. Results indicated that the initial cell numbers of Pediococcus pentosaceus RSU-Nh1, free cells survived with 7.68 log CFU/ml, whereas encapsulation using sodium alginate combined with various pectins extracted from pomelo and passion fruit peel exhibited free cell survival with 7.35 and 8.12 log CFU/ml, respectively. Encapsulation by combining chitosan with shrimp shells and fish scales showed cell survival rates of 8.59 and 8.08 log CFU/ml, respectively, while encapsulation with pectin from passion fruit coated with chitosan from shrimp shells showed the highest number of Ped. pentosaceus RSU-Nh1 with 9.24 log CFU/ml in gastrointestinal simulation. It revealed that encapsulation improved the survival of Ped. pentosaceus RSU-Nh1 in simulated gastrointestinal conditions.
