Item type:Publication, Aircraft Altitude Control Based on CDM(2019-05-09) ;Asa, Ekachai; This research presents the controller design for aircraft altitude control based on Coefficient Diagram Method (CDM). The controller, which is designed by CDM, guarantees a good balance of stability, response and robustness. The simulation results of the proposed control system show that the controller is able to control the aircraft altitude as desired and has a disturbance rejection behavior and the response speed can be easily adjusted by specification of the equivalent time constant. As the result, the controller design processes are less complex than other methods and the controller is still effective. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, FFC incorporating PI controller designed by CDM for temperature control systems(2002-01-01); ;Kumpanya, D. ;Komine, N.Ngamwiwit, J.A design of PI controller to be used to control the first order lag plus dead time process, such as a temperature process, by the coefficient diagram method (CDM) is investigated. The factor of the dead time of the process is first approximated to be the first-order by the Fade approximation. The responses of the temperature control system designed by CDM satisfy both transient and steady state specifications. However, the transient response generally still has long rise time. In order to improve the speed of the system response, a feedforward controller (FFC) is added into the PI control system. The structure of the FFC is a phase lead structure with two designed parameters and one derivative time obtained from reaction curve of the temperature process. The experimental results show that the performance of the PI control system with properly assigned FFC has short rise time, no overshoot and good disturbance rejection properties.
