A microgrid is a new paradigm of power grid which has triggered advancement toward a green, intelligent and power efficiency. Due to the intermittent nature of microgrid's resources and the unpredictable power demand, the microgrid's voltage and frequency may experience deviation. Therefore, the decentralized control which could provide a faster response is a must. In this paper, the decentralized hierarchical control is implemented to handle the microgrid issues and enhance the power quality. The first level deals with power sharing between parallel generator. The frequency restoration and energy storage control are implemented in the second level to handle the frequency deviation which results from the high integration of PV. The third level is based on the multiagent system to ensure supply-demand balancing, autonomous decision-making and real-time energy monitoring. A laboratory scale microgrid is build up to verify the proposed control. The experimental results prove the effectiveness of the proposed control throughout various operating condition.
