Item type:Publication, Research of Magnetic and Electric Fields to Design and Develop the Prototype of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Device(2025-01-01) ;Chompoo-Inwai, Chai; ;Suksathit, Witchayaphorn ;Kaewpromrat, WeerapatManeerat, SaranyuThis research presents a study and preliminary design of a main magnetic field generation system for an MRI machine using simulation software. The objective is to investigate the factors affecting magnetic field strength. Six coil models were preliminarily designed and simulated to analyze the magnetic field behavior. Simulation results were compared with experimental magnetic field measurements, showing that the software accurately reproduces the magnetic field. It was found that distributed winding improves field uniformity, and that both the number of coil turns and conductor size directly affect the strength of the main magnetic field in the air core.Based on the simulation outcomes, a prototype magnetic field generation system was designed. The proposed prototype consists of an aluminum core with a diameter of 110 mm and a height of 335 mm, suitable for arm imaging. The system uses a superconducting NbTi wire wound 6,516 turns in eight segments, with a current of 120 A. Cooling is achieved using a cryocooler model RDE-418D4 4K, which can reach temperatures as low as 4.2 K. This study provides essential guidance for the development of main magnetic field systems in future MRI devices. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, An analysis of total loss and temperature of oil-immersed transformer with short circuit test linear load and non-linear load(2005-01-01) ;Suechoey, B. ;Tadsuan, S. ;Khluabwannarat, P.This paper presents the measured temperature at top oil and on winding at high voltage part, low voltage part due to winding loss. By placing the thermocouples at the bottom, the middle and the top of mineral oil-immersed transformer, the variety winding temperatures are measured. The 3 - test conditions are 1. Short circuit test, 2. Linear load test and 3. Non linear load test. The temperature results show the difference temperature at any parts of the 10 kVA, 380V/220V, 3 phase, Dyn11 and ONAN ventilating transformer. The results of measured temperature will be compared with one another to get the difference temperature. If that temperature is higher than the rated temperature of insulator in transformer, its lifetime will be shorter. Finally, the result will be analysed about the relations among heat at any part and are useful for design, correction and protection of the transformer by heat. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Oil-immersed transformer temperature monitoring by ANSI/IEEE C57.91 model(2007-12-01) ;Maleewat, P. ;Tadsuan, S. ;Saelee, V.This article presents the development of a 3-phase oil immersed transformer temperature monitoring equipment. The developing prototype employs ANSI/IEEE C57.91 standard mathematical model to calculate the hottest spot of the transformer winding, and use the AT89CS8252 MCS51 microcontroller for an implementation. Main components of the newly developed prototype consists of input sensors, MCS51 microcontroller, and 7-segment display. Input sensors are RTD (PT100), CT and PT. An output display is 7-segment displaying transformer current, voltage, ambient temperature, top-oil temperature and hot-spot temperature. Test results show that measuring temperatures obtained from the new prototype are close to those from the conventional standard measuring instruments (CSI). As a result, transformer industries can find the benefits of the developing prototype of gathering and analysis transformer temperature data. In addition, this equipment can notify operators if their operating transformers are withstanding the overload or over temperature or not. © 2007 RPS. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, An Optimum Technique for Renewable Power Generations Integration to Power System Using Repeated Power Flow Technique Considering Voltage Stability Limit(2016-01-01) ;Wannoi, Chaisit ;Khumdee, Anurak ;Wannoi, NarumonThis paper presents an optimum location definition and technique for a better placement location of renewable power generations in a wide area power system using repeated power flow technique considering voltage stability limit. In this study, for a better understanding, the author have implemented the newly proposed idea on Thailand's power system especially focusing on renewable generation support plan from the government policy under the current Power Development Plan (PDP 2015). The study results have compared between: 1) installation the renewable generation at the newly recommendation area and 2) installation the renewable generation facilities throughout into distribution system in the Northeastern area of Thailand. The study results focus on impaction to voltage stability when system has load demand increasing and generation capacity decreasing. This study, a Modified-Thailand's power system during peak load in 2013 was used as a system base case with generation capacity around 27,400 MW and load demand around 26,810 MW while system losses 590 MW. The results found that the newly proposed technique can define optimum location for install renewables generation in wide area to enhance system security in term of voltage stability impaction. This technique may also carry to define the installation of other equipment as FACTS devices or define generation dispatch for Automatic Generation Control system (AGC) for power system stability enhancement. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Novel Techniques for Critical Load Buses Identification and Load Bus's Available Capacity Calculation to Improve Power System Stability(2020-07-01) ;Wannoi, Narumon; ; ;Chompoo-Inwai, ChaiWannoi, Chaisitthis paper presents two novel techniques for critical load buses identification and load bus's available capacity (LBAC) calculation to improve power system stability. The critical load bus identification is applied by contingency analysis considering system violation limits under load shedding impact. The violation limits consist of two limits including voltage and percent loading limits of power transfer equipment. As the LBAC calculation, the available transfer capability (ATC) of all multi-lines connected on each load bus are investigated with the total transfer capability (TTC). To validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, the modified Thailand power system during summer peak load in areal (load center) is used for a system base case. As the results, it is found that the proposed techniques can effectively obtain and rank critical load buses as well as to calculate the LABC. The strong relation between these two indexes can be applied to improve power system stability. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Failure analysis of dielectric of low voltage power capacitors due to related harmonic resonance effects(2001-12-01) ;Boonseng, C.; ; ;Nakawiwat, K.Apiratikul, P.This paper presents an investigation on the failure of low voltage power capacitors used in the textile industrial located on Thailand. The causes of the failure as well as the failure mechanisms of the dielectric used as the insulation of such capacitors are analyzed. It is found that the harmonic resonance can increase the current flowing through the capacitors. This result in the extra heat, generated inside the dielectric, which exceeds the level under the normal operation. Such heat results in the increase of the partial discharge inside the capacitors. This can eventually lead to the reduction of the lifetime of the capacitors. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, A Multi-Channel Feedforward ANC with FXLMS Algorithm for Aviation-Noise Suppression(2019-11-01) ;Sookpuwong, ChadapornThis paper presents a novel multi-channel feedforward Active Noise Control (ANC) system using Filter-x Lease Mean Square (FXLMS) algorithm for reducing classroom-aviation noises. Such a system will be simulated in MATLAB for a demonstrative classroom in KMITL University, Bangkok, Thailand. This circumstance becomes an interesting issue since the aforementioned classroom is located right next to one of the Asia Pacific's largest international airport namely Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport. An aviation noise problem occurs when aircrafts taking off and landing. The main idea of this research is trying to lower the level of the aviation noises which occurred in the classroom. A novel multichannel feedforward ANC system has been brought into account here. The FXLMS algorithm is used for updating the ANC controller coefficient in order to achieve the optimal weight vector resulting in minimal errors. A conceptual design of a proposed ANC and system configurations including all related equations are described. The simulation results will be presented in terms of noise attenuation capabilities and the Mean Square Error (MSE) convergence time. Simulation results presented in this paper will be used for further analysis to improve the system performance of the proposed ANC methodology before implementing in the real classroom.
